its really funny... when ayu hits a million sales like her other albums.. no one would even care about oricon not counting all stores or the amount of shipped copies... but when she doesnt "make it" people will do anything to pretend that she did

Makes me sad, truly . Makes me feel as if Ayu and her loving fans are trapped, the walls are closing in, and there's nothing we can do... But I have faith in her as a person.

From the little I have seen on that formula it looks like it could, at times, be terribly wrong, but it most probably isn't.

They say NO online stores are counted!
I believe it sold REALLY more than 1m, since most people today are buying things online... inside Japan and outside too.

I think they DO count them, in fact I'm almost 100% sure even if I never read it being stated at some official source.

Basically, they count all sales that ship from Japan / direct from Japanese warehouses :3

Yesasia is a HK-based company that orders from Japan, but the sales aren't counted. D:

As far as I know they do count online sales from the ones immel stated (CDJapan/Neowing, HMV JP, TowerRecords) and also, from amazon.co.jp. I'll try to find the link for you.

EDIT: here's the link of what physical/online stores oricon counts (in Japanese): http://www.oricon.co.jp/rank/index2.html
