Mmm... I loved Startin' and Born to Be because both of songs were headed for entirely new musical directions. With BLUE BIRD, it's just a nice summer song, not particularly outstanding. I think the PV might make me like the song better but for the moment, I just think it's a nice song.

I'm hoping Beautiful Fighters is going to be a great song.

lol I don't know how BanFan feels really... i just remember he didn't really like (miss) understood for a while (but then ended up liking it i believe) and then Startin' he didn't completely like that too (or didn't like at all) i dunno.

Haha. Startin'/Born to Be is the only Ayu single that hasn't grown on me, and I don't believe it ever will. And yeah, I'm usually quick to judge if I don't enjoy it at first, but this song, wow. It's so good.

i do think that Blue bird sounds like rainbow-ish.. which is cool because i love rainbow.. but its kinda mixed with the new ayu .. i really like this song ^_^

Mm, this totally succeeds in what it wants to be - a summery, upbeat pop tune. I think people who ask for originality are kinda missing the point here, songs like these aren't Supposed to be original, they are supposed to be nice and cheery and be able to make you smile and get you dancing on your feet. At any rate, a much, much better effort than her Previous summer single (fairyland, which took far too many longwinded verses to get to the point, and had a largely incongruous interlude part).

It is possible to have poppy, upbeat cheery songs and not have them sound the same as each other. The only reason I'm asking for more creativity and originality is that Ayu has proven time and again what amazing songs she can come up with. Having a song that is pretty good and sounds very much like some songs she has recently released, is not good - especially right now, I don't know if this will be enough to help raise her popularity up. Because frankly I actually like some of Kumi's recent singles better than this. And if you go back and check my history on this board, I'm not one of those people that constently seems to hate everything Ayu puts out. This, I think, is the only one I've been pretty critical about. And I'm only critical because I want Ayu to continue to succeed and this song just sounds average summer popish - I can imagine someone like BoA releasing it and it would be good for her - but for Ayu, she should be on a totally different level - I only expect that she do what she has proven to be capable of.

Like I had said earlier, this song reminds me of ANGEL'S SONG, which is weird because I became really in love with that song about a month ago when I had the Memorial Address CD for so long now, lol... Oh believe me, I'm the same way. But I can't deny that some of Kumi's recent songs like Wind, Someday, and You have actually been pretty good and have deserved their sales.

Well said. People nowadays can't sit and enjoy something. They just anxiously play the new song expecting a new piece of complete originality. Many JPOP artists can't be 100% original nowadays.
This song is exciting and I'm loving it. It's really calm, soothing and catchy. I could care less how much it can remind me of fairyland or ANGEL'S SONG or July 1st, the song overall sounds nice and that's what matters for me. I like the "trance" mixes as some referred and the videogame instruments.

Blue Bird is a good song. It is better than fairyland, though. Ayu has improved again.

Hmm, it's rather enjoyed here (meaning I like, my boyfriend likes, and even my 11 month old son likes it.. I'll have to see what the girls think later when they come in from playing with their friends).

Just like norain said... the beginning, the verse, everything is great except the chorus. It's just too July 1st-ish (even the la la la part). I dun mean the chorus is bad. It's just suddenly July 1st chorus pops out all of the sudden. (Usually I like ayu's chorus over the verse. this one will be different)

Nonetheless, it's better than what I expect. At least it has some old feeling on this song. Now we can look forward for BF and the cd covers. I just hope those two factors will be great as well .
