これだけの力を持つ彼に離反されれば、ａｖｅｘの痛手は大きい。

先の関係者は「ａｖｅｘはＤ・Ａ・Ｉさんに、“今までの曲はすべてａｖｅｘが所有する”と権利 を書き換え るならやめていいという条件を出し、彼はフリーになったら一緒に仕事をする人も決めたと聞きま した。しかし 、その話も遠のきそうなんです。彼がやめられない事情が出てきたのか…」という。

水面下であの手この手の引き止め工作も進んでいるのか。

こうした動きについてａｖｅｘに確認すると、担当者は「どこで聞いたんですか？　そういった話 はありませ ん」と否定した。

Ｊ－ＰＯＰに詳しい音楽評論家の富沢一誠氏は「会社が育てた作曲家は、傘下にいる安心感がある 一方、“独 立してもやっていける”と考えて反旗を翻すのはよくあること。でも会社から勝手にしろ、と突き 放されるリス クがある。今後は金銭の交渉になっていくでしょう」と分析する。

一方、最近は自身で作曲活動をする、あゆもＣＤセールスに一時の勢いが消え、悩んでいる様子 。

Composer DAI, Fed Up With Contract

A crisis is approaching Hamasaki Ayumi (26, photo), Japan's continuing reigning songstress. The composer and member of the popular band "Do As Infinity" (belonging also to Avex), DAI (Nagao Dai, 34), who has come to supply Ayu with music, has intentions to leave Avex.

Related work sources testify that, "Since making the hit song 'Ii Toko Tori', DAI seems to be getting sick and tired of Avex constitutionally demanding he compose songs to sell. Rather than making songs for singers the company chooses, he thinks he wants to find singers himself."

DAI made his debut with "Do As-" in Heisei 11 (2000). He did not appear on stage in Heisei 13 (2002), but along side with band activities, he wrote songs for popular artists such as Ayu, hitomi (29), and Every Little Thing. His work with Ayu on "Voyage" lit up the grand prize in Heisei 14's (2003) Japanese music awards. He payed 20,010,000 yen (US$200 thousand) according to the recent ranking of the highest tax-payers, and he is a hit maker earning an estimated income exceeding around 61,000,000 [yen] (US$600 thousand).

If estranged from this man with this power alone, it will be a massive blow to Avex.

The earlier source says, "Avex has said to DAI that they own all of his songs before now, and have laid out the condition that if they renew the rights, he should quit. And if he goes free, I heard he has decided who he will work with. But that's an old story. Have the reasons he can't quit come out?"

Below the surface, are various people going on scheming to stop him from leaving?

When confirming these actions with Avex, the person in charge denied them, saying "Where did you hear that? Nothing like that is happening."

Well-informed J-POP critic, Mr. Tomizawa Issei (?), analyzes: "On one hand, a composer raised by a company has a sense of security under their wing, it's also not uncommon for him to change his mind and revolt, thinking 'I can do this on my own'. But there's a risk that they will be selfishly pushed away from the company. After that it all turns into financial negotiation."

On the other hand, recently composing for herself, it seems that the force of Ayu's CD sales is disappearing for the time being.

But the previous source poitns out, "Personally, she seems to be requesting songs with a hip-hop or reggae taste. I assume she probably wants to change her direction. Maybe she's thinking of becoming like Amuro Namie."

I love every single one of DAI's compositions for Ayu. And Do As Infinity has a lot of really really really awesome music too! So it's kinda sucky for Avex, and I guess it depends on what this means for Avex's artists who rely on DAI. But I'm very glad for him. How many Avex-abuse stories have we heard? I hope this actually goes through.

I don't see how ayu isen't one of the songsrtess' he would like to worj on with even though he might leave avex. They're probably not on bad terms, considering how they're working together and how good their stuff were.

Hmmm...well if BLUE BIRD is composed by DAI, that explains why it's so catchy. Too bad the arranger made it sound similar to fairyland.
