koda kumi is at her peak right now, shes probably the most popular female artist at the moment
where as ayu isnt as popular but the sales is only 1600 difference..pretty amazing if u ask me

I meant in percentual comparison to my prediction on BLUE BIRD.

Well, I'd say 4-whateverit'scalled will sell like 248,765 copies, first week.

300,000 for the first week and a million in total? I doubt it will go past 600k in total sales.

Well 3 singles did in the past 1.5 years (although 2 of the 3 were Johnny's) and 1 was super close to the million that in reality I think it probably sold a million.

Well I wouldn't say across the board. The RIAJ did state that 2005 was a good year for the industry as I believe album sales went up that year. This year, it looks like single sales might go up this year while albums, not so much. I also think we're at the point where the older/established artists are going down (B'z, Ayu etc.) while the newer/emerging artists are going up (Otsuka Ai, Angela Aki, Kumi etc.) And of course, before (like a few years ago) it was the female solos dominating the charts, last year it was ORANGE RANGE, this year it happens to be Johnny's (and to an extent Kumi).
