You need to get shelves, that's the only way I know of that allows for irregularly sized cases.
I also use those shelves

I thought that will happen if you anyhow throw the CDs all around the place ?

why didn't I think of that before!

I recently bought 3 small CD-shelves (they stack "domino" style) but that bookshelf from IKEA is way better!!

I now just lay my 2CD / CD+DVD cases on top of it.. I want an IKEA shelf! damnit xD

I keep them in special travel carrying cases so that way I can just grab them and go. ^^ If I'm going on a car trip or taking a long drive or something, that is. It's much easier than lugging around and possibly scratching up the CD cases.

I keep them organized in two different places so they remain in mint condition. I store the jacket covers and CDs in a massive CD storage case, and all of the OBIs and back jackets/digipaks in a code-encased case.

I bought cd boxes for them all and I keep the plastic wrapping on most of them just in case it got scratched in there somehow D:

I wanna get a shelf for all my albums/dramas/manga but my room already has heaps of useless junk ;___; so I can't really fit one...

someday~

That's one of my problem. Storing cd but not particularly with CD+DVD issue all i want that my cds are protedcted from Humid and dust and moisture and microorganisms, etc.
Anyway,
I have only 1 ayu cd+DVD so I store it in a VS Box so it won't eat dust because my room's temperature is very hot during afternoon. Can't dare to put it on my bookshelf..
But I store my other jpop cds on my small closed cabinet...

Woah... Can you dare it putting your cds in a plastic bag??? No way!!!

But, well, i can't blame you but maybe you can make specialized cabinet sticked on the wall....Those can't get space on your floors.

Eh? Of course. They're asian goods!

EDIT: Oh, I misunderstood the title. lolz.

I keep them in a CD-holder thing as well, but the problem with that is that they get scratched and dusty. So some, like, say, my Namie ones, I have wrapped up in an orange t-shirt at the moment. lolz. My room's not that big.
