^ I think that was meant in jest, whereas the previous "nonsense" wasn't a clear indication of a joke

Didn't the Rainbow House thing on Ayuready have something to do with charity, or am I mistaken?

I think she probably has, though the only charity she helped with publicly was song+nation as far as I'm aware, right?
GRACE is right, the song+nation compilation album was a fundraise for the september the 11th attack victims.

So yes, Ayu has done charity work before.

That had nothing to do with charity. It was just a tie-in to promote the show.

Huh... you know that IS a good point... I haven't seen Ayu doing anything for the poor. Or maybe she just doesn't tell the press abt it or something....

i recall an auction where she signed a pair of jeans, but i don't know where the money went.

it's kinda funnie, when celebs donate money (& somehow it got publicise) ppl will say they are donating for the sake of donating, to "proof" that they've got a "golden heart", & not really to donate to help the poor.
Then when ppl cant find any news on whether certain celebs make any donation, they tend to question their personality.. T^T

dont u guyz think so?

hey im not tryin to be nasty of what but i juz suddenly got this kind of feelin yeah =)

It's Ayu's money. She's the one who earned it. Therefore, she should be able to do with it as she pleases, including donating to causes she supports (or not!), spending it, or sticking it into savings.

I don't want to start something here, but I get sort of annoyed when people EXPECT that public figures/wealthy people give to charity. If they want to and it's truly their choice, then that's great, but they shouldn't be condemned if they don't. I think it's a bit self-righteous when society comments about how people use their own hard-earned cash, but that could just be my personal politics talking.

It is reported that to design this unique jean and invite the fashion leader Ayumi Hamasaki to put a golden signature on it is for the charity. And all the money will be contributed to several charities.

Japanese media said the auction began at 6pm that day and the price once exceeded 200 million Yen. Because the buyer regreted to the price so the record was deleted. At 7pm to 9pm the price was standing around 1 million Yen. At 10pm it rose sharply and reached 3 million and 4 million. At last it was 760,003,000 Yen!!! A big price!!!

Ayumi Hamasaki has got the Best Jeanist Award for 5 times in the continual 3 years. So she becomes the only female star to get the Forever Best Jeanist Award. We can come to the conclusion that Ayu’s status of fashion leader is very steady.

Maybe yes, maybe no I personally don't care much what she does with her money (as long as it's not for bad purposes).

If she donates and doesnt want people to know we will never know, maybe she does silent donation and doesn't want people to like her just because she donates.

If she doesn't donate then it's all good as well. If I were extremely rich like her I don't know if I would donate money lol.

I remember the thing about auctioning the jeans and stuff. I dunno, I actually never really hear other Japanese celebrity doing the major donation thing. I'm wondering if they don't donate or are just more low-key about it. Although to be honest, I prefer if celebrities are more anonymous about their charities. Unless the said celebrity is a spokesperson for the cause, like Angelina Jolie, declaring how much money you(general you) donate tend to come off as patronising to me.

I wonder how much taxes she pays...
