ayu- big,wide eyes. jpn. tons tons tons of experience. (tons of ppl have better voices than her though
 )alan- bigger round eyes. chn/tibet. better voice. brand new. very unique! appeals to many middle-aged men for now. things in common: j-pop. they sing japanese. avex trax. GREEN sounds like some of alan's songs. thats pretty much it..

ayumi duh!
alan was cool for a month or two when she debuted. then himitsu came out and she went downhill sooo fast. and LOL, her voice is not that great. sorry, i don't like chinese mountain yodeilling. it's not cute or professional. plus she's no competition, she sells 1 copy compared to ayu's thousands and millions!!!!!

It'd be fair to compare Ayu with BoA, but alan?
Music wise, I could almost call myself a purist. So I definitely prefer alan. Her songs might sound all similar, but they're so well composed and executed. Although the rythmns are not diverse, alan's voice, the melodies and the harmonies make her songs very rich. However, Ayu truly wins in other categories. I won't vote because I believe Ayu is the best artist/entertainer but not the best musician.

i like both.
but for these 8 years, i would chose ayu over alan. not because alan hardly writes, but she's till unfamilar with japanese, i would rather her to sing. She have a beautiful voice
