mihimaru GT- I used to be all up on them, but now... eh, they haven't had a good song since forever. I haven't even checked out the new album
Ai Otsuka - I had a brief flirtation and got the last two albums, but her voice is quite annoying, really

I was losing myself that time & frankly when I look back at some of the mean things I said to anti Johnny's on here , I can't help but feel ashamed/cringy of myself but at the end of the day , Rock music still rules for me . Even way before I crossed over to Japanese music , I love my rock bands during the time when I listened to them That's why I feel for rock bands that I listen to , 99.99% they will not sell out to the masses because they don't go though the Idol route & they do everything hands on from writing , composing to producing which I super respect this trait(s) instilled in them & most of them started out in the music business with indie roots so they know lip synching's a NO GO Quote:
I was horrified they dared to lip synch in such a high honoured event & really , what would people think ? I think the other bands in the talent agency might probably bad mouth about them doing so cos it's really a big slap in the face I frankly don't mind if an artiste lip synch should the song in question's a fast paced dance no. or if he/she was ill on that day but to do that for EVERY single performance & from the start to the end of your concerts ? demented much ?

^ ha. yeah im used ot it now. its just the only thing keeping me from regretting buying TITO is that it still supports her (but if im gonna buy that then i should buy many otehr r&b albums that really are better or the same). . .
i acutally LOVED Alice Nine. . .but they just became what every other extremely talented and awesome vkei/oshare-kei band has become who goes major T.T. decent but hardly as unique as before. i guess to sell well against boy bands and such u do have to change a lot |

I wouldn't say that I lose interest in an artist, but I will say that Hikaru Utada and BoA are not making great music like the used to.
I liked Hikaru's "EXODUS" album. But not her 2nd American one. Her single, "Come Back to Me" was it. The ONLY song I liked. BoA...it has happened since the Made in Twenty album; I like the one or two singles she releases, but then the rest of the album sucks so I just don't buy her albums anymore. I did buy her Best Album and her American album though. And Kumi Koda only had ONE album that made me go crazy and that was "Grow into One". She has had maybe six more songs since then that I have liked. Her best being "TABOO". But eventhough I see the three artists above as declining, I will still follow them and welcome new singles and albums. I just won't be buying them.

^ I think it's only because of that looooooong break from japanese releases.
Ai Otsuka - maybe I've never been a huge fan, but I'm waiting for single which will kick my ass.

Indeed. The older fans are prolly used to her rather slow release schedules and what could seem like extensive "breaks". It was pretty much the same when EXODUS was released and we had to wait for ages until Be My Last~

I don't really lose interest in artists...I lose interest in genres. My listening goes through phases...so one month I may want dancey music, and then I want like jazz or something...so it just depends.
I guess that means I stop listening to certain people...but...I never really lose interest. I mean, say Ayu, she hasn't impressed me at all since god knows when, but I still love and am very interested in everything she does. I could say the same for many more people...some people's lack of releases lead me to listen to them less, since I already listened to all their old stuff or whatever. Just gonna say, there are a lot of dumb assumptions in this thread. It's sad that people refuse to understand anything they dont want to.

artistes like ayaka , Ken Hirai & Kobukuro are the really rare few that they sound the same if not even better live when you compare their vocals in a CD live Other Johnny's I watched their live performances of in concerts & shows , they sometimes lip synch but not extensively I don't care if you sound different on CD & live but to do that all the time , it's taking credibility away from you as an artiste I rather go & watch a mime perform than this

Ai Otsuka Like everyone else, everything she released crumbled down on LOVE LETTER. She's not 'crazy' as usual...for me she's like 'sick', like being someone else now.
Utada Hikaru Though her amazing vocal, she takes a loooooooooooong time to release and between releases I got bored. HEART STATION was so so. Koda Kumi UNIVERSE is a big disappointment imo. They like making 2-3 great song and mash it up with some fillers to make an album. alan It's not that I lost interest in her totally, but avex should stop toying with her style (my life). I love her Voice of Earth Era more. BoA The last single I really appreciated was Eien. IDENTITY was a flop for me, it's not her at all. Yuna Ito I'm waiting for her new material, DREAM is a disappointment and Let It Go is so so, I even like Happy Days better. Last edited by terra; 21st March 2010 at 02:27 PM. |
