There are a bunch of professionals / models in it.

(The people on instruments = professionals at playing their instruments, I guess, and the models are actual models that work in the industry.)

As for the outfits, a lot of them have been worn by GaGa, or at least she has also worn stuff from the same collections. But this is mostly because both Ayu and GaGa chose to use the best British designers when choosing fashion designers... it's more that Ayu and GaGa probably have similar tastes in avant garde fashion and that's why things kind of seem strange.

I think this is Ayu's first time venturing into the world of "fashion" in a PV, haha. (wearing designer outfits and etc. anyway)

Ladies Night not weird on the level of GaGa? If anything, I think it's weirder than anything GaGa has done ever.

I think this is more true than anything.

If you wanna get technical-- Ayumi started doing this weird "avant-garde" thing around 1999 when the kanariya single was released (and has continued to use it off and on ever since.) She actually used elements of it even prior to that, but let's just say she started in 1999. GaGa was 13 then, so... Yeah.
This.

^ Ohh I thought she meant that either A.) she was gonna play dress-up or B.) There would be a few models/musicians that you could automatically go "I know them!"
But then of course the MV would cost sooo much to make, so i kind of doubted B.

For some specific examples of Ayu using similar outfits once worn by GaGa (not saying she's copying again... similar fashion taste is more what this is imo.):

(This was covered in pleather it looks like for the PV...)

Ugh, I already stated my points in the album information thread. But I'll try and paraphrase...

Slt definitely looks GaGa-ish to me. This does not mean Ayu is copying. Or that GaGa is queen/God. Or that Ayu is trash for having similarities.

I hated the comparisons at first, but this PV is more GaGa than anything else she's done that has brought up comparisons. I will not deny it, and actually seeing more people continue to deny it just sounds ridiculous.

Yes, Ayu is her own. GaGa is her own. They both have been inspired by different/maybe perhaps some of the same things. But any (non-biased) non-Ayu fan would totally say this looks like GaGa.

Looking back at a bunch of editorials from last year, many of the designers who Ayu used had pieces in Vogues all across the world and Harper's Bazaar too. (Most notably McQueen's Horn of Plenty collection from Fall 2009... so many of the black and white houndstooth pieces in magazines!) Couldn't Ayu, you know, have been browsing fashion magazines/lookbooks like any other person interested in fashion would do? Haha.

Its kinda annoying to see all the lady gaga comparisons when ayu did weird stuff way before when gaga was around. Its just that for the past 2 years or so ayu's been doing 'normal' stuff while gaga got famous with all her weird stuff.

With the SLT pv, they both just chose and wore the outfits from the same designers. I think ayu wore the outfits in SLT pv very tastefully (not trashy) and artistically.

I don't care to elaborate much more than this, because, ppl who see gaga even in their soup just won't be open for debate.

Like this comment I read in youtube, in a MARIA CALLAS clip, where this user said that while watching maria callas reminded him about people not accepting that gaga can sing????, something scary like that!!. I even remember here in ahs there was a thread about that too comparing opera singers to gaga, I don't know how that ended.

anyway, So if there are ppl who can't accept that there are many ways to go around this ayu-vs-gaga-fashion-fight, they should not get into a debate.

"La Divina" Maria Callas compared to Lady GaGa???

Gosh, I don't know where music right now is heading then
Gaga has some catchy music but she's just the artist of the minute

And about the "copying"... Yeah, Ayu seems to be inspired by the Gaga-McQueen team, still, those claiming Gaga is original, creative or whatever, really need some fashion, music and stage history

Sorry to say, but this PV is pretty much Gaga copied to the bone. Seriously, she didn't just take some inspiration from Gaga, she did more. Her hand motions around the face, her robotic-movements, the costumes, shoes, everyhting is exactly like Lady Gaga's style.
How can you guys even argue with that?

And I don't believe it's a parody, if, however it actually turns out to be a parody, stated by Ayu herself, then I'll eat my words up. I highly doubt it though. It started with Sparkle, a bit Gaga-ish, and now this is even more Gaga-ish. She definately likes Gaga.

So now ya'll know how those Jolin fans feel whenever she does something Ayu has done

However (yeah, there's a good thing) the song is hot! I love it! Innovative, funky and original. Good!

You can't say that she definitely loves Gaga. You don't know that. And Ayu has had weird robotic movements in her videos before.

Honestly, when I saw the preview what came to mind was Ayu meets McQueen with a splash of Shiina Ringo.

I don't have anything against Gaga but she has certainly done a good job in brainwashing people into thinking that anything high fashion/weird is her.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm no.
So GaGa invented random hand movements? Ayu has been doing those for years. I can't tell if you're being sarcastic with your post or not, it really seems like it because it's so ridiculous.

How can Ayu copied Sparkle from Gaga? We all know Kazu was inspired by a p*** film. I didn't even think Gaga when I saw Sparkle.

I don't know, Ayu was doing a "artful/fashionable" thing with this PV and chose to focus on London designers. I think that GaGa's style is basically anything and everything avant garde, so no matter how "unique" something is, it seems like someone will always trace it back to GaGa as she's worn just about everything from Paris/Milan/London/graduate shows around the world. She put Rachel Barrett(?) on the map with her silicone rubber collection after all, haha.

I think even if GaGa hadn't come around or w/e, Ayu would still have done this PV and people wouldn't be pointing fingers at Ayu/GaGa.

It's like... Ayu has worn designer outfits since she became famous. She wears McQueen, Balenciaga, D&G/Dolce&Gabbana, Dior, Chanel, and other designer outfits quite regularly. Why is it so out there to think that the fashion was mainly her idea? Also, some of the Gareth Pugh works that were worn in the PV were never touched by GaGa, haha.

I think I just had a near death experience watching this, and at the end of this the purple pleather suit wasn't even similar (and its not like Ayu even invented that kind of get up anyhow). You were kidding right? cause if not you need your eyes checked.

Anyhow, I find this whole comparison laughable. Pretty soon people will say that Gaga inspired anything Avant Garde and the Fashionista George Micheal Videos of the 90s (wearing Linda Evangilista's outfit in her Paparazzi video). There are far too many instances and similarities discrediting Gaga of her originality.

^ That's the stupidest thing--Sparkle = GaGa?? Holy crap, now we're just being retarded. The only thing in that PV that reminded me of anybody else was, her hair looked like Kuu's in ECSTACY, lol.

After finally getting to see the PV, it is extremely "GaGa-ish". However, she's using the same fashion designers. And who are these designers? Well, I know McQueen is English/British, and she obviously has a whole England/U.K. thing going on this year, so no wonder she would choose him. If anything, Ayu is just copying the fashion world, and so is GaGa.
This is a little different than other 'weird' things she's done before, but not completely off. Somebody put up A MUSEUM and that kiss 'o kill performance. Those and Sparkle, especially, have similar choices, just not so fashion runway extreme. But it's certainly the same idea.
Either way, I don't like it. At all. I think it looks ridiculous on Ayu, on GaGa, and on the many other celebrities who have gone down similar paths. I wish I never had to look at any of it, is all I know for sure.
