Nice to see Ayu is the highest ranked singer! The other musical act above her is a group?

Whoah, I think this is a sign she's coming back in the public eye

I was looking for Koda Kumi in the first 26.. but she's... THAT low?! Omg.
Well, anyway. I'm great she still made it in the top 100.

Anyway, I'm glad she's #26! She really deserved it. That's so great!!!
(:

Not surprised by this at all. I keep waiting her for to end up on Times' list. xD

I agree with most of your post, even though I'm a huuuuugee fan of her. She's not frequent enough with her activities to be considered a cultural influence. Maybe in the late 90's or early 00's during the First Love ~ Distance era, you can say she was a big influence because she was on top and brought R&B to Japan. But now? She's not influencing anything.

However, I just wanted to let you know that this part of your post is wrong (at least for me.) I'm constantly waiting on her to release something new and when she finally does I'm a billion times more crazy than when Ayu or someone else releases any album. Just saying.

wth, Hikki totally got snubbed on this list

(edit: everyone's all talking about hikki up there lol)

That is great for Ayu that she is the top singer. Just shows the prestige she holds and will always hold in Japan.
