Tokyo Tower to get Arashi makeover this week
![]() Tokyo’s iconic Tokyo Tower will be turn into an Arashi tower on March 16, the group announced yesterday, reports Oricon. It has been reported Arashi were in Odaiba, Tokyo, on March 13 to appear at Fuji TV’s “華嵐 (Hana-Arashi)” campaign event. A model of what Tokyo Tower will look like this Friday night showed the tower covered from top to bottom in Arashi’s group colours blue, red, green, yellow, and purple. Jun Matsumoto said the tower will feature in the final episode of his drama series “Lucky Seven”. “So those people who aren’t able to go to Tokyo Tower can see it by watching your drama, right,” Kazunari Ninomiya said. Fans will also get a chance to take part in the event. There are plans to ask fans for their own videos of the “Hana-Arashi” Tokyo Tower, which will be edited together to make a special tribute video to be uploaded to Youtube on March 19. “Now that we’ve got Tokyo Tower, I hope we get a chance to light up the Tokyo Sky Tree in Arashi colours,” Sho Sakurai said Because of the name “Hana-Arashi (Arashi flower)”, reporters had asked Masaki Aiba what he wanted to flower the most this spring. “It’s not time for me to flower yet, I’m still at that age where I’m a seed,” Aiba said. Satoshi Ohno also talked about his upcoming drama “鍵のかかった部屋 (Kagi no Kakatta Heya)”, which has also begun filming. “It’s a challenge. I’ve never played a character who is the key. All of the technical phrases are giving me a hard time right now, even yesterday I had trouble pronouncing 一酸化炭素中毒 (issanka-tanso-chudoku, carbon monoxide poisoning) properly,” he said. “Hana-Arashi” is a campaign Fuji TV is running from March 16 to April 16 to promote shows and dramas Arashi members feature in, similar to its “福嵐 (Fuku-Arashi)” campaign around the New Year’s season this year. These Arashi shows are: - “Lucky Seven” drama series starring Jun Matsumoto - “超ド級!世界のありえない映像博覧会9 (Cho-do-kyu! Sekai no Arienai Eizou Hakuran-kai 9)” variety show guest starring Sho Sakurai on March 27 - “謎解きはディナーのあとで (Nazo-toki wa Dinner no Ato de)” drama series special starring Sho Sakurai on March 27 - “VS Arashi” spring special - “鍵のかかった部屋 (Kagi no Kakatta Heya)” drama series starring Satoshi Ohno Arashi will also appear in a number of other campaign spots on TV in the Kanto region. http://momoedgewood.wordpress.com/20...ver-this-week/ === Tokyo Tower to be lit up in Arashi’s colours! ![]() On March 13th, Arashi appeared at the press conference for Fuji TV’s “Hana Arashi” campaign. This campaign is to promote Fuji TV’s spring programs, in which Arashi members appear during March 16th to April 16th. During the campaign, many CM spots starring Arashi will be aired intensively. They will also promote the programs through 5 minute late-night specials titled, “Haru Ichiban! Bokura ga Hana Arashi wo Makiokoshimasu!” (total 4 episodes, limitedly in Kanto region) on March 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 26th Moreover, it was announced that as a part of the “Haru Arashi” campaign, the Tokyo Tower will be illuminated in Arashi’s image colors (Blue, Red, Green, Yellow, and Purple) on March 16th (6:00 pm ~ 12:00 am). It will be the first time for Tokyo Tower to be lit up in 5 colors. Member Matsumoto Jun revealed that the “Arashi” Tower will be shown during the final episode (to be aired on the 19th) of his ongoing drama “Lucky Seven“. At the press conference, the members were asked which building they would like to light up next, and Ninomiya Kazunari jokingly said, “I’m aiming for Aiba-san’s parents’ house.” Aiba Masaki responded, “My father and mother would be shocked, so please stop.” During March 16th to April 16th, Arashi will be all over on Fuji TV! http://www.tokyohive.com/2012/03/tok...rashis-colors/

Here's the special Hana ARASHI website -> http://www.fujitv.co.jp/hana_arashi/index.html
=== Because the name “華嵐” means “Flowering Arashi”, is there anything you want to flower this spring? (i.e. what do you want succeed at or challenge this spring?) Matsumoto: There’s a growing number of books I’ve been wanting to read. My drama series is about to finish so I want to read books! Sakurai: There are a number of games on VS Arashi, but last week I was chosen and the Worst Worst Arashi player. I hope that I can change my worst Arashi player status by taking part in different games. Ninomiya: I want to watch all of the shows (promoted by Hana-Arashi). Ohno: I’ve already started my challenge, filming my drama! http://momoedgewood.wordpress.com/20...ver-this-week/ LOL @ Sakurai's answer , at this rate , he forever can keep his MDA title haha

“COULDN’T BECOME SMAP…” ARASHI’S ANXIETY AS THEY FALL FROM THEIR PEAK
Since the mid-2000s, Arashi has sprung into the top artist seat, but since last year, their popularity has started to see gloom. Arashi up to 2010 was filled with vigor. In the 2009 Oricon Yearly Ranking they held the Top 3 spots alone, and the next year sucessfully held first place on the same ranking, winning over AKB48. It was thought “Arashi’s Era” would continue. However, in the same ranking in 2011, in the Top 10 their 35th single “Lotus” took 6th place, and their 36th single “Meikyuu Love Song” took 7th. Furthermore, Arashi has seen a decline in variety show viewership ratings. “Himitsu No Arashi-chan”, for example, has begun to stand out for making 10% ratings. Internet fans have stated “Arashi’s variety shows are just like other programs, so I’m tired of it,” or “They appear too much in the media, so I don’t have the willpower to search them out now.” As thought, Arashi has finally reached their peak. A person connected to the entertainment world and knows about idol groups offers his knowledge: “In the 2000s, Arashi appearing in the media increased, and they acquired many new fans. However on the other hand, they’ve lost the power to attract core fans who shell out money, and their popularity foundation is dwindling. At the same time, however, groups like Kanjani8 or Hey! Say! JUMP have acquired this power, and even new groups like Kis-My-Ft2, Sexy Zone, or A.B.C.-Z have become a topic.” In the industry, it was once said “SMAP’s era is over, its now Arashi’s era”, but it seems that talk is in the process of weathering. “Each of Arashi’s members have some type of charm, but do not have the strong, influential personalities like Kimura Takuya or Nakai Masahiro that allows you to reign over the entertainment world for a long time. If they lose the age they can be called “cute”, Arashi’s members have lack of a personality to continue as the National Idol Group, or in other words, are too much this generation’s child. Arashi’s bubble has reached its peak, and what comes next for them is now the real challenge. SMAP doesn’t have a member with higher education like Sakurai Sho, or a talented artist like Ohno Satoshi, but the question is can Arashi once more create their own era again? In any case, it looks like their real worth as an idol group can only be answered this year.” http://omoxi.tumblr.com/post/1949217...y-as-they-fall === You know I kinda agree with this article since I belong to the category of being their fan before their popularity had a resurge in 2008

^ Oh please, could this article get any more dramatic!
![]() Arashi is a great group and they sell like crazy ("Wild at Heart"-single anybody?)! Of course their popularity will decline again, but this happens to every artist! I can understand that there are people, who are tired of them by now, but this seem to be the people, who have always only been casual fans (or haters!). As for their TV shows: "Himitsu no Arashi-chan" was great in the past, but it's boring now, "Arashi ni Shiyagare" is okay, when they have interesting guests, but I think that "vs. Arashi" is just getting better and better. And why does Arashi have to create their own era? When you love an artist, then this artist is the best for you, no matter how popular or unpopular!

lol, what a dramatic article.
![]() I'm personally more of a casual listener, and I do like their music. Usually I don't really like Japanese boybands because at times they seem too cute but Arashi is great (and Jun Matsumoto is awesome in Hana Yori Dango haha ![]() ![]() |

Tokyo Tower was lit up in the five Arashi colours - purple, yellow, green, red and blue - for one night on March 16, 2012 as part of Fuji TV's Hana Arashi campaign. For those interested, you can check out footage of the lit-up Tokyo Tower on the Hana Arashi campaign website (video is only available to those in Japan) or on Youtube. Many videos are available on Youtube as the site itself encouraged people to take videos of the tower, upload them on Youtube and send them the links to be put in a compilation video. Videos were accepted between March 16 at 6pm to March 18 at 6pm. Similar to their previous 'Fuku Arashi' campaign, Fuji TV's 'Hana Arashi' (flowering Arashi or flower storm) campaign will last from March 16 to April 16 and include six programs. These programs are Lucky Seven's final episode on March 19 (already aired), which was shot on March 16 and includes shots of the lit-up Tokyo Tower, Sakurai Sho appearing on Kasupe - High level! Gathering of world's unbelievable footage 9 on March 27 at 7pm, Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato De's SP airing on March 27 at 9pm, VS Arashi ~ 2012 Spring Arashi Festival ~ airing on March 29 at 7pm, Ohno Satoshi's new drama Kagi no Kakatta Heya at 9pm on April 16, and Haru Ichiban! Bokura ga Hana Arashi wo Maki Okoshimasu! which is a 5 min mini-program similar to the New Year 'Fuku Arashi' 5 min program where Arashi shows exclusive footage from their upcoming shows, as well as info on the new VSArashi corner . This will air locally at various times from March 22 to 26 and promises to be as amusing as the last one. The campaign shows that Arashi is still a go-to group for promotion, at least when it comes to Fuji TV. http://aramatheydidnt.livejournal.com/3570700.html

Masaki Aiba talks about playing a good-for-nothing police detective
Arashi’s Masaki Aiba talked about his upcoming drama role at the “三毛猫ホームズの推理 (Mike-neko Holmes no Suiri)” press conference in Tokyo on March 19, reports Nikkan Sports and Sponichi Annex. In this drama series Aiba plays a police detective who faints when he sees blood, is scared of heights, women, and ghosts. “He’s got so many faults. He believes everything people say to him and the bad guys take advantage of him. But those can work in his favour too. He’s not a new kind of hero, but I hope people will enjoy watching the ups and downs of this good-for-nothing police detective,” Aiba said. It has been reported Aiba had said his drama and Arashi leader Satoshi Ohno’s drama “鍵のかかった部屋 (Kagi no Kakatta Heya)”, which both start their seasons around the same time, are totally different. “They might be in the same mystery genre, but the characters and stories are on completely different lines. I hope both teams can work harmoniously.” The drama is based on the best-selling novel series “三毛猫ホームズ (Mike-neko Holmes)” by Jiro Akagawa. Mr Akagawa was also at the press conference and said he had visited the drama set while they were filming. “It helped a lot that the cat was very calm. Maybe the cat’s an Arashi fan,” he said. “The cat comes when you call it, if you ask the cat to wait, it’ll wait. It’s like there’s a person inside there,” Aiba said. Speaking of people inside cats, in the drama series Matsuko Deluxe will play the cat’s “human form”. “I’m looking forward to seeing the transformed Matsuko,” Aiba said. “三毛猫ホームズの推理 (Mike-neko Holmes no Suiri)” goes on air in Japan on April 14. http://momoedgewood.wordpress.com/20...ice-detective/

![]() But when they sing the song for Aiba's drama now, does that mean that they won't sing for Riida's new drama? I was really looking forward to another awesome song like "truth" (hey, I can dream, right?!). Or maybe they will do both?

I'm pretty sure they will sing the theme song for Ohno's new drama as well since they have been the ones that provided theme songs for Ohno's past dramas
I don't see why they're not going to do it although there're some exceptions like when MatsuJun starred in Smile To be honest , they should release a double A-side next . Hard to believe it has been 3 years since they last release a double A single :x Let alone please release a Sakurap driven single , it's also 3 years long overdue too ugh
