Jason >> I liked "a song for xx" the song but I wasn't really attracted by most of the tracks, but thats not a VALUE judgement, that was just less what was corresponding to me ^^
And yeah, a little of pop would be good, actually it's good when they are pop, rock and ballads songs in a same album I think

EDGE23>> I luv ya <3

ah? I see a difference between saying "it is crap " or "it's bad music" and "this kind of song isn't really my style"

Please, people, look at the age of a thread before you post in it!

There's even another thread about the same subject that is much newer and where the issue is a lot more thoroughly discussed:

What a surprising initial reaction to an album that is defended by so many now.

wow.... its fun to go back and look at some of this stuff...
And here now... So many people LOVE Memorial Address and its such a go too for music!

Ayumi never gets the love she desires when she releases an album... its always when she releases the newest album people go back and are like... Why cant she do this again! This was perfect!

^I'm surprised about how many people say they love Next Level on one of the recent polls (happiest album), cuz it really felt like the world was going to end and everybody was going to die when it was released.

See I was the same way!
When ti first came out I just could not stand it...
Even the singles I was not all gun whole. (which i usually like all her singles)

But maybe a year or two later I sat down and listened to it all the way through... no stopping and I like it... I found out that I like it a lot!

I dont know what it is, but sometimes her stuff just doesnt sit right and then after awhile people tend to love it!

^ Ha! Well, That didn't cross my mind until you mentioned it. Whaaat....

Seriously, though. It's a relief to see a really old topic like this, seeing that people have said the same things about every album of hers they've said about this newest one. Opinions are a dime a dozen.

I believe that Ayu fans tend to like to be pleased instantly, so, a lot of times they listen the album once or twice, if they enjoy it at first, they love it, if they don't, they won't give it proper time to be digested either...

Sometimes people believe they dislike something, but they just find it unusual and didn't have the time to get used to it before deciding if they really like or dislike it. The same happens with those songs everybody finds catchy but ends up having a short life...

I agree with this.

Party Queen is the first album released during my time as an ayu fan that I neeeded to just digest more until I really felt that I liked or disliked it.

It is funny to me how taste in music works. Especially in the realm of ayu fans.
