Well if it is ayu there's no poor song in my list. Maybe the pre-avex songs...the only song I can't really tolerate is gut-it-pez.

I already said before, but I'll repeat: Greatful days... Actually I like her first album and must say that after listening to INSPIRE for a while I started to like it. Same with Real Me (I love remixes of ths song), girlish and Poker Face

I love Greatful Days
 It's too happy sounding to me to hate, but maybe that's just me. For some reason or another I really don't like "For My Dear" - PV and all. I just don't like it, ha ha. Most of her other stuff is cool with me though.

I generally think that all of Ayu's songs are great in one way or another, but in terms of poor musical/singing quality, it's gotta be For My Dear... Yes, the lyrics are amazing, but I just *cannot* sit through that song. I have hard time with monochrome sometimes, too, since her voice pierces my ear throughout the choruses every time. I get really sick of Voyage pretty easily, too. But it's odd because I can never get enough of songs like HANABI, even though most people find that boring.

I actually didn't like some of her really popular songs: Inspire, Carols, Because of You, No Way To Say, Game, M, Rainbow, Tsuki Ni Shimizu, etc.
Perhaps I'm strange ^^

greatful days.
when i first heard it, i did like it. it seemed really cute and happy. but then, everytime she sings it live, it actually HURTS my ears. the vibration in her voice is too much in that song. but i must also say ourselves :X

I agree that a lot of "A song for XX" songs were bad. "poker face" is probably her worst. I'm not a huge fan of Hoshino Yasuhiko in general; I think her melodies are cheesy and unskillful. Plus, these were some of Ayu's first lyrics; I don't think she had quite found her voice in that sense, and it resulted in a lot of awkward spots. That being said, there were a few gems amidst the tackiness of that first album; namely, "A song for XX," and "As if..." I look at "Powder Snow" as the grand-daddy of Ayu's more experimental masterpieces like "teddy bear," "forgiveness," "Dolls," and "Free & Easy" that just take a few listens before you can truly appreciate them.
Overall, as the years go on, Ayu just gets more masterful, so that even a "bad" song now isn't really that bad compared to past standards.
