In the interview of "Vivi" magazine, she said that "Alterna" equals "Alternative".

Advanced spanish doesn't use the pronoun. it's usually implied.

Alterna los carros = He/she alternates cars.

It's usually left out by context of the converstion. Like if he/she has been said previously, the speakers will leave out the pronoun because he/she has already been said and is implied afterwards.
