Let's Do It: 100% Ayu Week!

i can listen to her for a week, but the only part means NOT listening to kuu for a week....that will kill me.

maybe after a month i'll try, coz Kingdom is just out and i want to listen to it.

I wouldn't be able to listen to just Ayumi for one whole day, let alone a whole week every freakin' month. My taste in music goes all over the place, and only J-pop would drive me up the wall.

Listening to only her as a Japanese artist is impossible for me anyway, since she's practically the only J-pop singer I listen to (wholly). ()

I don't think any of us are overreacting (at least I'm not). We're just stating the truth that listening to one (and only one) artist over a long period of time will bore us.

It's possible for me to listen to one artist for the whole month. I've listened to Secret when it came out initially for a few weeks or so (didn't keep track on how many weeks).

I don't really get sick of the album or something like that. It's that good. Some Ayumi songs just sound better and better when u listen to them more times. It's kinda like you find something new with each listen (if that makes any sense at all).

Well, I've listened to the whole entire Mika Nakashima discography for a month or more, I'm sure. For that period of time I just don't wanna listen to any other artist. Even when I'm driving.

I like this idea, so I'll give it a try.

When I listen to one song a lot I only begin to like it more and more,it never bores me.
Actually,it bores me when I start to listen to something else...that's just my case though xD.

Hey I'm a die-hard fan, can I join?

Honestly no one else comes close to Ayu for me. She is epic, that is all. I love Ayu's music, it is absolutely beautiful and there is a song for everything. The depths of her lyrics and her honesty and genuine feelings make her songs more than just catchy melodies, although she surely isn't lacking that, either. Her concerts get me excited. She has such a wonderful stage presence and is incredibly kind to her fans. She works with such determination all the time. Nothing beats her really. No one comes close, and I've been feeling this for over 5 years, so my opinion is pretty solid.

That's how I feel about some Ayu songs. Usually I wouldn't listen very much to her earlier work, because I found it a bit lacking/wanting for... well.. my patience in listening to basic JPop and limited vocal-range, but I found myself REALLY enjoying the songs on LOVEppears and even, yes, ASFXX, more than I thought I would.

I only got into "Marionette" because I listened to it like, 12 times in a row, haha. You DEFINITELY get a better appreciation of a song if you listen to it over and over, I find. You just 'hear' more, notice more of the song and 'feel' its evolution better. That's how I am about HANABI~episode II~. There are times where I honestly get chills listening to it.

I've also been exclusively listening to Ayu since I first posted in here--no complaints! I even made five different playlists/moods of her stuff to better adapt to whatever I'm thinking/feeling right now. And I know that in two weeks's time I won't even want to listen to her. I just wear myself out on Ayu, it would seem.

Plus I find it better to listen to Ayu on massive repeat than try and sit through another listen of Kingdom. Biggest let down of '08.

I don't quite know what you're saying....

I understand perfectly. Its like watching the same movie over and over again or listening to the same lecture. Or eating the same dinner every night. It looses its sparkle. I know I'd probably be sick of her if I listened only to her.

I listen to mostly Ayu anyway, and I never get tired of hearing her music, so I could do it...and I'm not a new fan, I just really love Ayu that much.

I don't think it's like watching the same movie or same the dinner every night. It's not as if Ayu only has one album or anything! I mean her discography is so.... massive! 9 albums, 10 if you count Memorial Address; almost 50 singles, several remix albums. That's hundreds of songs right there.

I guess I can understand why some people might get tired of it if they enjoy other artists. But I suppose since I really do enjoy Ayu the most by far, I find every excuse to listen to her.

I wasn't really paying attention (I actually forgot about it) to this "100% Ayu week" thing but when I saw this thread again,I noticed that I listened to Ayu 100% these 5 days!I made a playlist named "whole ayu original discography" and I was listening to only it!OMG,I think I can make it for more 2 days!

I really don't feel even now a need to listen to other artists.
Ayu really is MY ALL when it comes to music <3
