Here's a DL if you want that: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=9...db6fb9a8902bda

And more about the song. It's not actually a Ding Ding song. It's a song by He Xuntian, who, if memory serves me right (/iron chef), did Holy Incense. The song's on his newest album which just came out this month.

Well, as there's still not much going on with Ding Ding as far as new music releases go, there's a wonderful interview/documentary-type video on YouTube. I found it really interesting. A lot of great interview and new songs it sounds like

According to her Wikipedia page, her new album will be out this July with 6 songs in Chinese. I know wiki isn't the most reliable, but at least it's something. I tried to check the reference link as well but unfortunately couldn't get it to load.

^ I think she's classified as 'world music', but it's a mix of pop, electronica and traditional music.

@Peachilicious: I was the one who put that on Wikipedia The video was posted in this blog entry and since the info came straight from her, I though it'd be okay to put up there. Now all we need is an exact date and more info

@paper_doll: Oh, so it was you! Thank you for the link, the other one wasn't working for me for some reason but this one does. I can't wait for the new album, though I doubt any music stores here in Alberta will stock it. I'll probably have to ask them to special order it like I did with Utada's "Exodus", haha.

@AyUta: You should probably start with the Alive PV, and if you like that you can go ahead and download the album (also titled "Alive"). I think it's pretty easy to find on the internet, but if you need me to I can upload it for you.

@AyUta: You're welcome! (Wow that was late, haha.)

Anyway, I was randomly surfing and I came across what appears to be a new song. I don't think this has been posted before... my apologies if it has and I'm just extremely slow! In any case, I think it sounds amazing:

[Edit]: Ok, I did a little digging and found out that this is (probably) the Shanghai World Expo theme song. So it's not exactly "new" per se, but it hasn't been posted before to the best of my knowledge so I'll leave the link up.

So... it's mid-July and not even a word on the album D: No new song news, no MV shooting news, no title, no preorders, no release date.

Anyone have any ideas for the new album about what she might try? Provided Xi Ran Ning Bo'll be on the album, we know there's more Sanskrit, and she mentioned Chinese songs. My guess is maybe more influences from southern ethnic groups this time music-wise. Personally, I'd love it if she went with a Mongolian-styled song a la Oldster by Xilin River.

I've been checking every few days or so for any news and getting disappointed when I don't find anything. I'm worried it's been pushed back (yet again)... though I know in the end that means we'll probably have an even better finished product, at this point I'm just kind of anxious to finally hear it, haha.

As for what the new album will be like, maybe it will include these 2 new songs as well?:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ylv3J7I2_6Y
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkyzAGIVnOg

The first one especially sounds like it could be really amazing as a studio recording. I'm praying "Xi Ran Ning Bo" will be on there as well if only because I'm dying to hear a good quality version of it. Other than that, I think it'd be cool if she wrote a song in Mongolian, or maybe another high energy song like "Our Expo" which she doesn't have a whole lot of.

@xheartstation: I'm glad you like her! She doesn't get nearly as much exposure as she deserves so I'm not surprised you haven't heard of her. I agree though, she is gorgeous.

Oh wow, I hadn't even seen those videos. Thanks for posting them! I agree with you, I'd definitely like something along the lines of Our Expo.

^ I wish I was as patient

She's finally been updating her blog. Her last entry has a beautiful Lagu Lagu performance. Her outfit is great and I love the dancing: http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_489ea0280100eqay.html

I always double post in this thread lol.

Album news, possibly. I was going to update her Wiki page when I noticed someone added a release date as Sept. 28 for the album with the title Harmony. I did some looking around and I guess the Chinese title is《天地合》 and sound-wise it a lot of elements from Yunnan. I dunno about an exact release date. I'd be stoked it it was really coming out this month, though 8D and that way i could order it along with angela zhang's album....

HMV has the release date as 02/22/2010 (though when I look at the cached version of the page it originally said the 28th of this month, so I guess that was a mistake). In any case, I can't wait. I'm really liking the cover too.
