Yeah lite others already says.
I totally get the sad feeling of it. Its very very sad in a way. But beautiful sad. Its a very rare feeling to get that in a song Thats why I adore fairyland, its so dam powerful. Amasingly sad and happy in the same time. I love it!

To me, fairyland it's more of a nostalgic song, she sings about it...
The loss of inocence, the happy times and how we cling onto memories and fear to face the future... But she also says how the future, as uncertain as it is, may lead us to return to that innocent phase of our lives in a place we don't know yet. The metaphor of the house burning is about how the things from the past can change in the present and how it affects us... I remember having a plush I loved so much and I gave it to one of my cousins asking him to take good care of it... months after I saw that plsuh being bitten and totally distroyed by his dog and I felt kinda sad. So, fairyland sure does have a sad side but it keeps an optimistic side to it and the PV is the purest point of view from Ayu on it. *+D.N.A.+*

I like fairyland just for the ironic dual effect, honestly. Sad vocals (I think) and lyrics posing themselves as otherwise behind a happy composition and arrangement. It's why it's my favorite "summer song" from Ayu. There's actually a lot going on in it.

I'm not gonna say it's my favorite, but I do enjoy the song, and it definitely makes me happy because it was the first ayu cd I bought.

It is a sad song. I don't listen to it anymore, but when i used to i usually heard just the first part and totally skip the last one
 because the instrumental part (especially the piano) sounds a bit depressing. Certainly the first part is very cheerful, but the other is really nostalgic and sad.
