Hm, I really never thought alan's music was similar to Ayu's at all. :\ But I like Ayumi's music better because she has more variety. alan seems to only have traditional music, really. Which is awesome, but not a whole album of it.

I'd agree to this. Aside from the fact that I don't know much about Alan, I believe she still lacks appeal to most audience.

When did this happen? alan's ok, she is not anywhere near Ayu and she will most likely never sell nearly as Ayu did nor reach that level of popularity, they shouldn't even be compared as alan is still pretty much a nobody in the music industry (even though I like her, it's the fact).

If there are any resemblances in their music (those were only kinda obvious during alan's elemental singles Sora Uta and Kaze No Tegami) it's all due to the fact that Yuta Nakano and a few other producers have worked with both. Both have very different styles of singing and generally do different music, so yeah...dunno why people see them as similar ^^

I mean based on hearing Perseus and NEXT LEVEL one could also say that Shimatani and Ayu are "similar", or after hearing Alright! you'll pretty much think of BLUE BIRD and vice versa as the arrangements are damn similar (DAI~) but that doesn't make Ami and Ayu "similar artists" in any way~

I never really gave alan a try now that I think about it I actually did it bore me.
She have some good songs but it's not technically my type.

I voted Ayu because her music is much more diverse although she currently sucks live.

Ayumi Is my IDOL haha so I can't vote for Alan though she's very beautiful and very, very good at singing. Amazingly good in my opinion. haha she's destined to lose in this poll though since this is an Ayumi fan site... hahaha

I love alan too. She has a very beautiful voice. She is so far my second favorite jpop singer.
