How do you feel about Ayu wearing fur?

You know guys, I just think this thread should be closed. Cuz the feling I'm getting here is ppl ganging up against others. And that is really unnecessary.

Yes this is a forum where we all are connected by Ayu. But these discussions naturally comes up when someone decides to start a thread where you are supposed to tell your oppinion about such a strong fact as fur. I would kind of say that it's the same as discusing religion. It's strong for some and others not.

I have been pretty clear on what my oppinion in this is and some others do feel the same. But the one who gets a bit too hard comments is a person who stands for the same as me. Maybe all of us should just calm down a bit? This topic is, oh so sensetive and ppl express it different. Some is because culture, some because of the fact that we are communicating on the internet. This is nothing new for noone.

I also find it pretty interesting that ppl that I have given "my answers" for this problem with the fur industry and noone isn't really commenting them. Nothing like "have you given this a thoght?" or maybe even "okay, you might be on to something, that could be true." Instead ppl are ganging up against the one who screams the most (maybe also the one who is easiest to "fight" against?)

As a last note, my problem isn't with the ppl who says "I like fur". I'm against ppl who say something like "I'm not saying what I think about it, I just think it's useless to try to fight against it". The difference is that the one who says that he/she likes fur, is honest and thats a oppinion and everyone is allowed to have one. But the ones who gives impression to think that the fur industry is okay, cuz they argue against those who think it's wrong, feels somewhat confuced. I think that ppl who really can't express or even know what they feel should maybe wait to enter the discussion before they know what they think. At least the ones who likes fur are honest to themselves and actually are strong enough to stand for what they think. They can at least say "yes I like fur even though I know all the fact about the torture". It's a horrible thing to say(imo), but at least I have more respect for ppl who is true, then ppl who just wants to have a dead discussions.

Same goes for me, everything I have been writing here have been only constructive and I wish for nothing else from everyone else to keep a clean discussion.

But as we have seen that this ain't working. I for now on concider this thread closed cuz this leads nowhere.

I know what possible options are to fight for animal rights. And I spent a lot of free time and hard work to be politically active - in reality, normally not in online forums. But all this statements here were to much for me to deny my ideals.

I think you guys don't get what I'm saying:
I have clear, moral values which include that NOBODY HAS THE RIGHT TO TORTURE ANIMALS! All the more not for making big profit. As said before my poit is not about killing animals is bad, it's about torturing animals is bad!

I won't deny my values because anybody feels offended.
Some of you guys seem to think that there is nothing wrong if you say those things:
- they are only animals and we also eat them
- fur looks good
- it's reality and we can't change the world or industry, so you can wear fur because nobody will change something

And here begins your part. Of course you can change something! Maybe by saying things like this:
- I hate cruelty against animals!
- I don't wear fur and don't want that you are wearing it!

Because you guys say 'everybody his own opinion and ideals' this situation only exists! If you guys would say thinks like those mentioned and be strict against it the industry wouldn't make any profit. Of course it's a slow process till most people are convinced but YOU can breake the first ground!


By the way, I have nothing to do with PETA.

As I said, I love animals. But I'm not blind.
I don't trust on PETA because there are a lot of controversies about, and I know they kills a lot of animals for useless purposes. That's sick.
I don't wear real fur though, if I like a fur jacket I'm always checking if it's real or not. I'm not going to the saleswoman and yell to her 'YOU'RE DISGUSTING! ANIMAL MURDERER' lol.
I search for reliables infos and sources before attacking people. And you're wrong, because in most of civilized countries they don't torture animals for making furs. Because of animal rights. I know, it sounds odd but they exist. There are animal rights for cows, pigs, fishes, chickens too. Even though we're gonna to eat them. We must fight for apply animal rights in other countries in my opinion.
Torture animals like that ***** who have thrown puppies in a cold river for fun, it's totally awful. Luckily she will gonna pay for that.
Unfortunately we cannot control each human being, we don't know if he or she will kill or torture an innocent animal. We should trust on laws.

Okay, to stay on topic: I have a rabbit fur stole and a raccoon tail. I think it's okay for Ayu to wear fur from animals that are raised specifically for fur and aren't endagered.

No. There is no such thing.

For an example, Sweden have one of the worlds most hardest rules in animal keeping. That includes meat, fur, private etc. But just a couple of months ago this secret animal organisation discovered that the fur industry does NOT follow the rules and the animals are eating of each others ears, screams, fight and kill each other like maniacs. HORRIBLE pictures and videos posted all over the country. The goverment got under hard preassure to change things up. And rules got even more harder. Other then that, fur looks really pretty, but in these days they can do some pretty good looking fake fur so... It's worth going fake to save animals from this hell...

And it's veeeery possible to change the industry.

For an example. In Sweden last year this swedish reporter started to do this inside documentary in two parts (1 hours each) about the down feather indystry that is, just as for fur, AWEFUL! Just like in the fur industry the birds are picked alive (not after death) and they scream. They get big wounds that and just lies for hours after the chock. Veternarians says that alive feather picking is the same as for humans getting their hair/skin picked off. It's really hurtful. And they do this 4-5 times on each bird before they kill it. Just like in the fur industry the animals are being kept in aweful enviroments and tortued til death. The reporter also showed that even if clothes or bed companies promised that their feathers always was picket from dead animals, it was all lies. He actually came around the system and showed that pretty much ALL feathers are picked from alive animals.

When this documentrary was showed swedes got really mad and they revolted against all down feather products. Huge companies like IKEA and Jysk gave money back to all of their costumers. They also changed their profiles since they no longer could say that their feathers for sure was from dead animals.

This got huge in Sweden. The reporter got a really respectful journalist price for his effort and the feather industry really changed over here.

So yes, it's actually possible, might I even say quite easy to change the industry.

At the very least, just to say "I'm against animal torture" you're a good way to change things up.

Btw, for those who didn't know. Sweden is a pretty cold country. Our winters are -30C (-22F). And swedes can do very good without either fur or down feather jackets... So please, don't give me that.
