American mainstream music may suck sweet buttocks, but, thank god, there's more.

The fact that Ashlee and Jessica are portrayed as the stereotypical "bad girl" and "good girl" turns me off to both of them, but at least Jessica can sing. The Orange Bowl performance was just...what everyone else said...

And for wanting to get out from under Jessica's shadow, Ashlee's sure doing some things like her sister does, like having the first season of her reality TV show follow Newlyweds.

I heard that she used to dance and was admitted into some ballet school as the youngest there. Why give this up for things she couldn't do in the first place?

Well, I was talking about this on another board and the ballet thing came up. Apparently she was youngest only because Papa Simpson lied about her age; she simply would not have been admitted if they'd known she was too young (11 instead of the required 12). It wasn't because she was talented, just because creepy Papa lied. They sure have morals, eh? Also, it was a new obscure branch of the American School of Ballet and in the end, just something they mention to make people think she actually has talent somewhere.

Because I dislike her, I feel like adding to the thread with some more ridiculous quotes from http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/149...headlines=true

"Maybe they were booing at me, maybe they were booing at the halftime show 'cause the whole thing sucked,"

She's still not taking any responsibility. Blame the band after SNL, blame the acid reflux, blame the audience after Orange Bowl. Classy. No respect for the people who worked hard to make it a success despite the problems.

"And I look forward to continuing to not listen to what one person says and making good music."

So one person was responsible for all the noise? That person must have a great set of lungs.

"I go from having a #1 album and things going great and all of a sudden something like 'SNL' happens and boom! You're faced with how mean people can be and criticizing you and stuff," she said.

Because we should just be cheerleaders. When you screw up and behave like a brat afterwards we should just buy more CDs to make you feel better.

She blames everyone except herself and isn't just refusing to learn from her mistakes, she's refusing to even acknowledge them. Unprofessional.

This is what someone from my farscape forum said:

"Yes, stop listening to one person. Listen to everyone. You can't make good music."

Blah, thats pretty low trying to blow off the boo'ing as to teh performers. I watched it again... the performers were good. Even if they were "bad" no one boo's like that at dancers. Most of the time when people Boo, its directed towards the main attraction of the event, so.. its pretty obviouse who it was directed to.

i wonder though, after this... if she will get any spots for TV apperances, or any other outdoor event... I think after a mess up, and an entire stadium of Boo's.. from here on she might just go downhill...

Haha, I think the whole situation is funny. It's her fault that people are booing her now and getting rid of their cds of her. She dug her own grave on this one..

^ I agree. She just made things worse and worse for herself.

She should have just said "Sorry I lipsynched!" instead of blaming her band and instead of "acid reflux"

ya...at least lip synching is wayyyyy more credible than having an "acid reflux"

Unhappy Poor girl...

I bought Ashlee's CD. I watched her show and I came to really like her as a person and an artist. But when I saw that SNL thing; I didn't know what to think. I just couldn't believe she blamed the thing on her band when the tape was playing in the background.

I was really upset; I felt like I and the other, millions of people who bought her CD were ripped off. And I wanted to trade my CD in too!
Until I took a moment of empathy. Imagine if that were you lipsyncing your performance and then got caught live infront of an audience (i suppose) and millions of people around the world. It was wrong; dead wrong but to kick a dog when he's down is wrong too. I think the people should forgive her and go about their way.

But then when I saw the orange bowl performance...I was a little more ticked off than empathetic like everyone else. But I couldn't have boo-ed her. I don't have the heart to.

But let's be real...maybe pop/ and "bubblegum" rock music isn't her thing. She can sing though. I heard her sing "Little Drummer Boy" with her sister Jessica and her voice is wonderful. She says that rock is her thing and blah, blah, blah but I think it's only her thing because Mr. Geffen-Records-Man/ and her dad-ager says it is.

She should try and find her REAL self before even thinking about going on tour and putting out a follow-up album.

What do ya think?
