Oh yeah Ayu's really popular around here. My brother thinks he's her husband and his friends swear she's cheating on him with them. So yeah, everybody loves Ayu here...well at least her looks anyway.

On a serious note though, my mom and my brother like some of her songs like "Dearest", "forgiveness", "walking proud" mostly the ballads though. I don't have any friends outside the house simply because I don't really get out much (and because all the kids out here are insane. With five year old riding ATV's UNSUPERVISED to top it off you'd think so too).

I live in my apartment with my family.

Ayu is pretty popular around it.

Although, mom usually asked me to turn down the volume, even if she claims she likes her songs.

For me, here in the midwest America, it is mostly my anime-obsessed friends who have ever heard of her...

HOWEVER, I attribute Ayu to me getting along with my co-worker. I don't think he liked me very much and we could never chit-chat, and then one day after work while we were closing he played Evolution! I went....THIS IS AYUMI!!!!! Since then we get along much better ^_^

She's not really that popular here. Some of my friends know about her but that was just through me.

A couple of my friends know I'm in love with "a Japanese singer"/"porn star."

I know there are people on AHS in Florida, but meeting them seems unlikely unless we planned it.

Philippines = Utada, no one knows ayumi here... unless they know me. LoL.

utada's the only japanese singer who has air play here.. but those songs were only Can You Keep A Secret? and Automatic.. other than that, you wouldn't here any japanese songs... unless you eat at a pretty pony~pretty pony~pretty pony~ resto...

She's known where I live, but I wouldn't say 'popular'. Although occassionally, I do see people buying Ayu CDs at the store.

Few people... *sigh* oh well... my friend saw few days ago a girl with Ayu`s pic on her T-shirt and below spelled "Ayumi Hamasaki" (She should have beat her up and take her t-shirt whille she had the chance XD)
That makes... one person that knows her not releated to me >_<

I don't think I've been in this thread before o_o..so here goes.

I assume Ayumi is somewhat well-known in this area since I go to school in the DC suburbs; there are a lot of Asians around here, so I'm sure there's some Ayu influence somewhere in there Utada is probably more well known here, though.
