That's just probably because some Ayu fans just try to find all the possible errors in the song, all the bad sounds effects, lyrics that sounds "awkward", how it's too generic, too bland, how it doesn't fit the melody, or the lyrics, or the chorus and the verse doesn't fit, and the list goes on.

To me, if it sounds good. It's good. And I like it. I'm never gonna complain about awkward "ii"s.

Some people are also saying it's just another pop song... Well, what do you expect? She IS an pop artist after all.

I don't think they are really bashing the song... Maybe they just really really hate it.

yup it kinda upset me when people bashing about ayu.....i actually really love the song

Wow, I suddenly have the urge to listen to AUDIENCE, Free & Easy, SEASONS, STEP you, July 1st, HONEY, and ANGEL'S SONG. I never thought it was possible to mix all of those together, but somehow "fairyland" did it. HAL (whom I'm almost certain arranged this song) pretty much re-used AUDIENCE's arrangement and slowed it down for this song, hence why it sounds a bit unoriginal. I'm not bashing "fairyland," just pointing out that HAL is starting to make their songs sound so much alike lately. (GAME = Because of You, HONEY = ANGEL'S SONG, fairyland = 10 songs in one, etc.)

Anyway, I like the verses, bridge, and the melody. The chorus, as others have said, seems a little out of place because the verses (without reading the lyrics) sound gloomy, then a cheerful-sounding chorus pops up out of nowhere. The chorus is what really makes it a summer song which I guess is the point.

The song is very good, but why Ayu calls it "fairyland" still stumps me.

it's great.. i NEW she was gonna make a comeback and i was right! woooh! When I first heard it, i realized it was sounding a lot like her old stuff. Kinda rock mix.. It rocks

An allright song not her best but a rather good song nonetheless. It'll have to grow onto a person after a few listens though so if Avex doesn't advertise this song a lot it won't really sell well but it's not as bad as some have been picturing it here. Definately a fresh feel from her rockish side and the techno feel is really fun.

I donno why there are so many negative comments onto this song but then everyone is entitled to have their own opinions onto this song. And you cannot please everyone but I really hope this single shall be successful.

I'm kinda at. . .half half with this song.

It sounds too much like a whole bunch of her old songs just randomly strung together. That's the main thing that bugs me.

On the other hand. . .

It's about damn time there was annother summery, happywhee song. :B 'Nuff said. . . .Then again, can you really imagine a slow, sad song or a rock-ish one with the title 'fairyland'? o__O;;

i saw the video twice and im likin it a lot now^^

There will always be someone out there to criticize something, trying to point out every little detail they didn't like, which is basically the whole song. They just don't have anyhting better to do lol

Umm... cos that's not pretentiously elitist or anything. Why are so many fans total sheep? I swear some people would buy a pair of Reeboks and swallow rat poison if Ayu made a commercial advertising it.

She's not a goddess, she's a musician.

Music is art, and art is complete emotion, and emotion (like opinion) varies from person to person, time to time, place to place. I can't speak for others who share my sentiments, but I won't apologize for critiquing parts of the song. I think it's a great song, I've said that several times. I love it. But I guess I look at a song differently than you.

I'm a musician myself, so I'm a real stickler for details like awkward lyrics and funny pieces of arrangement. When I think things like that, I'm not bashing by any stretch of the imagination. I'm just noting their existence. Obviously if I've been listening to the clip on repeat ever since last night, my thinking "Ooh, if it was my song I would have done this and this and this..." doesn't mean I hate the song. Cos it's not my song, and I can completely appreciate it for what it is.

You can be a realist and still admire something as a valid expression.

So relax. Nobody here is out to destroy Ayu's career.

A final thought: Ever had a friend who fed you all the BS you wanted to hear about how hot you looked, only to find out you had a trail of TP from your shoe and a quarter stuck to your ass? A good friend doesn't let you walk around like that; they cut it to you straight, no matter how hard the truth might be to swallow. Give it a thinkfest.
