After teasing us with a short video displaying the girls' dance abilities but failing to unveil the members, SM Entertainment has officially released photos of the five member girl group, f(x).

Along with the pictures, it is now known that f(x) will debut this September with their single LACHATA. And the 'x' in 'f(x)' is like a variable, where if the 'x' changes, the result will be different. Which correlates to the members diverse skills and backgrounds, which will allow them to not only flourish in Korea, but by changing their x-factor or variable, they will also succeed overseas - as that is the plan.

In addition, the 'f' stands for 'flower', and the 'x' stands for the female chromosome 'xx'. And like a flower, they will blossom and become hot icons to represent Asia as the top "Asian Pop Dance Group."

Stay tuned to allkpop as we continue to bring you the latest coverage on f(x)! And for those of you still wondering, f(x) is pronounced "effects."

^ LOL. I agree, they are really complicating the meaning of the group's name. Just pick one already! XD And I'm sorry but Amber's look doesn't fit in f(x). At all. The other girls look really cute, pretty and FEMININE. And Amber is like... a guy? Her hair, her clothes... Urgh. Anyway, we'll see. I'm hoping that f(x) is not another girl group with a rapper.

f(x) seems promising.
But they're all so damn young (except Victoria), I don't like that at all.
Nevertheless I'm looking forward to their first song. LACHATA is a weird name, but it sounds different than any other girlgroup in the preview, that's great.
Besides I don't have any problems with Amber and her boyish look. We don't have any good and clear pics yet.
