@Deep snow:

It's something to think about imo. As thinking never hurts. Just what about ayu's songs make them not just good, but great and worth being a huge fan of, which many of us are.

Ayu is filled with imperfections, let alone CREA. That's the main reason why I fell in love with her music. Anything CREA you can notice are not so professional, maybe musically, just like someone said here who I think have a background in composing music, but those are just the songs that really screams, "This is Ayumi Hamasaki." Never I am amazed by uber detailed songs of operatic singers or whoever music prodigy there was, but Ayu she's different. Through CREA's songs, my adoration for Ayu solidified to a state that it can no longer be broken. No matter how many failures Ayu have to bear, my love for her music is not that shallow to like hate on her just because of Party Queen, or just because of ASB covers. CREA set that, and I'm just forever hoping that I can hear a song from her again.

CREA arrangements/compositions have that particular feeling to them. something in those songs just makes you fall in love. after rainbow, there hasn't been an Ayu album that I could actually respect as much.

I see this thread and it makes me cry.
CREA is amazing and so special.
Her songs that she makes are amazing, the lyrics... they just scream ayumi.

still alone is gold. Heck the entire I am... is a masterpiece. And I'm not an ayu-stan. It really is, I think, my favorite album of hers.

I didn't realize how much people romanticize their love for CREA. They so passionately adore her compositions. It's crazy. But good that she's admired in that way

I really don't think bringing CREA back will save her music though unless people can like a song simply because she composed it.

Several of my fav ayu songs that I still feel scream ayumi are not composed by her. So I just don't feel the same as some people. I feel more strongly about her lyrics in fact.

I dont think CREA will boost sales to what they once were, but i do think it would be somewhat of a big deal to the older fans.
avex could even make a big deal about it if they wanted to, which of course they wont... but oh well.

How can you call CREA (or any composer) mediocre? All of that is subjective, and personally, I think she's one of the best composers I've ever listened to.

If it wasnt for CREA i dont think I would be an Ayumi fan now...
it was evolution that made me a fan!
In fact i listened to more CREA stuff before listening to the rest of Ayumi's disco!

Well her most iconic song (well one of them lol) was written by CREA. I can definitely tell the difference between her songs and a professional but I don't think that makes her songs any less amazing. But others are right. Her comps are layered with amazing arrangements so the songs sound amazing regardless. They kind of work as a back up to help shelter her inexperience.

I'm pretty neutral about CREA.
She has done some gorgeous songs, but also songs I don't care for.
Though I do love the fact that she did compose her own songs and it gives a deeper feeling to her music.
Even though arrangement wasn't done by her.
Do I want her back? Hm, would be nice to see what she would make out of it today.
But I can do without CREA as well.

Btw it's interesting to read there are Ayu fans who can tell the difference between an CREA song and her others (apart from knowing she did them before). I guess I'd never be able to do that.

CREA is ayu's pseudonym when penning compositions.

I like some CREA though, few of my favorite songs are composed by her (M, evolution, no more words, WONDERLAND) though to be quite honest I do like her DAI, HAL & Komuro songs more. Can't really explain properly why though.
