So true! Sad ballads are so much better than up-lifting ones.

I would definitely put "Ashita e Sanka" in the melancholy category, though, IMO. Although it's not particularly sad, I agree.

I think it can, and it doesn't sound happy at all to me. The lyrics aren't particularly perky either, but I guess people hear different things.

That screams sad to me.

And I don't want her to fall into the ballad slump either (*cough*YUNA*cough*) so it's good that she's experimenting. Although she is really good at ballad-type songs.

Ah yeah, the music doesn't sound too sorrowful at all, I understand what you mean. The melody actually sounds a bit hopeful, in my opinion.

Yeah, that's why I'm being thrown off, plus I never read the lyrics ^^;; It's the sound, the lyrics she can do what she wants with, but I don't think she should do another song with that hopeful/uplifting melody for a while
