Hey! We all are comparing ayus sales with other artists, YUI's sales, yearly rankings... Kuu is another artist as much others! Everybody is a bit sad with S/S first day sales and making predictions that doesn't mach past single standards, etc...

I'm only saying that Kuu with a more complet single has sold 87K in 5 weeks and that one of our worse predictions for S/S first week is to sell 88K so we don't have to be upset or sth cause S/S will be really lucky if can reach this in one week...

Yes actually Kuu's sale for 3 SPLASH was really bad... it's a good and strong single with goodies... so I don't know... I'm saddened too.

But well back on topic... I really can't wait for tomorrow's sales... I'm predicting 28k~ or so.

Ayu doesn't even deserve #1 tbh. Momusu worked way harder to promote their single and it's their 40th.

Nope, its 10k higher than R/S.
R/S used the x1.7 multiplication just to make it higher.
S/S will be HIGHER if they use the x1.7 index, but it was eliminated by ORICON this year.

We can see the ACTUAL CD sales.


Its better to let go the x1.7 and satisfy the decent sales than to loafin' around on the past sales and sad.
As of the performance of S/S on the release date, im very satisfied.

Everyone should stop freaking out, its impressive that S/S sold as much as it did on the first day. The fact is its getting harder and harder for physical CD sales especially when 1) Digital downloads are way cheaper & 2) How many people out there are still willing to pay $15-20 for basically 2 songs unless you're a hardcore fan?

I thought WILD was one of Namie's best songs and that single ended up selling even less than Rule/Sparkle. Unless you're one of those boy bands that are invulnerable to worldwide recession, expect a dip in sales for everyone.

^Not to mention there aren't various versions and no first press. Sales may not have a drastic drop because of that though.

Those are possibilities as well, but who knows how much they would help with sales? How do we know they would even help? I think the result would have been the same.

Could 100~150K be the new 500K? It seems all of these popular artists (excluding boy bands and new, really popular songs by new artists) are selling about 100K per single...

YUI, Perfume, Koda Kumi, Kobukuro, and many of GreeeN's singles can only sell less or a little more than 100K these days, and they're all very popular artists.

So with that in mind I think 500K is the new million seller!

Maybe a little on the first day thats why second day sales drop so much and that why i said the good thing is that we probably won't have that big drop now.

She'll reach one million sales this year. She would have to release another single/dvd/compilation album by the end , right? She can't leave us hanging.

The sales are scary but even with the crappiness of the single it should have hit 50k with all the promotion. At least she got number one spot.

I think the first day is kind of low. Mainly because this is her summer single and usually those would be selling more than stuff like Rule or MW.
