i am a very very recent ayu fan. ^^
and i dunno really whether a lot of ppl here where i live (in china) like her. i go to an international school. most of the students are korean and chinese.

maybe some of the koreans like her? i know some koreans that like jpop. i only know one japanese student in my school... and a few americans... (i'm originally korean-american).

k-pop and chinese pop is really popular here. i haven't found a lot of chinese pop that i liked so far...

No one here knows who in the world she is. But at least I have a place to talk about her and a place where she's popular. *coughsAHScoughs*

She's the most popular japanese artist of all where I live (Russia). Some anime/japanese culture magazines even put her PVs on their monthly DVDs sometimes. That's actually how I saw "evolution" and "GAME" at the first time when I wasn't into Ayu yet. It was 2004 or so. She has some really nice fansites in Russia too. We love Ayu!!!!!

Quite unpopular. Almost everyone knows her name though. "Oh, that Japanese singer?" but that's it. There's a few fans in my school though.

I'm sure she's far more popular here than she seems. The CD shop owner has like a box of (m)u CD's in January and when I wanted one she said "Oh, these are other people's orders. You can place an order, it will arrive in two weeks." Like, what the heck?

Bah! We're talking about Turkey here. No one here even believe that there can be such artists as Ayu in Japan Though I recently discovered a Turkish J-Pop board

Where I live, no one doesn't even know that J-pop exist....*sigh* I do know many people who knows who Utada is but not Ayumi. Majority of the people in Memphis thinks that listening to music that you don't understand is very very weird......

I seriously did not know that other people (beside my friends) listen to jpop...so when I was reading this issue of my school's paper, I was very surprised to find Memorial Address in the "recommend CDs" section. It was wierd...

Hmm... I don't know what I should say, but I think Ayu is popular in Finland. It's like every time I search something from finnish sites or just read what people say at forums, Ayu is always mentioned somewhere. And then there's that finnish Ayu forum called Ayu Moments. :3 It's a big forum.

She's not here like a "goddess" but I think that her fans in Finland would go crazy if Ayu said she's coming here tomorrow.

Not REALLY popular. But I have many friends who knows her. Heck, this must probably be because I spend too much time with fellow j-nerds. XD

Same with him. I'm from the Philippines too, and goodness... Ayu lovers/admirers/ fans here are very very RARE~

Some of my Ayu fan friends of mine were just influenced by me that's why they now know about Ayu.

In other words, she's not famous here. But some of us will try to change that. Including me.

^ Like Lora-Ayu said, Ayu wasn't that very famous in my country.

They all know was all crappy western music or ballads or thrashy Rnb & Rap which I don't like the most nowadays.

When someone talk about my favorite music artist, I really proudly say "AYUMI HAMASAKI" but I ended by the question like this: "Who is she? Is she famous?"

Whenever I heared those words, I become pissed-off and I just wanted to scream and answering like this:
"YESSS!!! SHEISREALLYHUGELLYFAMOUSONTHEWHOLEWIDEWORLD!!!
SHE'SAMUSICICONOFJAPAN!!!UTADAandBOAISNOTONLYFAMOU STHERE!!!!!
*pants*

Oh well, I had nothing to do but accept the very VERY harsh reality that Ayu isn't really famous in the Philippines.

There are few people here who can REALLY recognize the genuine and honest music of our beloved Ayu-chan.
