^True... May be she doesn't know her father because her father left her at 2 and her mom never want to talk about it... So, without knowing her father is a japanese or american, she may not even know if she is actually half american/japanese... And she said she is close to her mother? May be she is... May be she is not...

Narration> Closing her eyes, she saw an yellow cassette tape with its label peeling off. A woman's narration a little theatrical and merrily sounding conversation of the animals of woods. It was perhaps some nursery tale. And when the story came near the end, she noticed there was not her mother, who had been listening to it together. Surprised at the klaxion sounded at the garden, and looking out of the window, she saw her mother watching after a man carrying a Boston bag under his arms and getting out of the door. This is her oldest memory. --All Night Nippon
Hmm...interesting... Also if you read the All Night Nippon where she talks about her mother, It almost sounds like her mother treated her as a mistake. Last edited by spacelion; 18th June 2006 at 08:10 AM. |

I think that her mom was more of the 'provider' of the family, and thus wasn't allowed to have much of a relationship wtih Ayu ~

She can't be a mix-blood. No. The only explanation is:
Quote:
So to make a conclusion: She is a 100% Japanese. And she loves English culture (US esp).

^^aww...how sad (QT Mashi). her mom probably never talked about things like race if they weren't full blooded. Didn't Ayu's mom only tach her to like die her hair and put on make-up? I know she never cooked...ummm...what did Ayu's mom do for a living? Anyone know?
i dont care about Ayu's race...personally, i'm hoping that she is also a 500 year old Vampire.

This is an interesting idea, and one I never thought of before.
I want to disagree with the "it's wacky for Japanese kids to call their mom 'mommy'" though, because I do know that calling one's mother "mama" is not that crazy, and I assume "mommy" would fall into the same category.

Facts about Ayu's past that sound...err..."fishy?": *Her Mother was very cautious about her appearance & Ayu never knew where she worked. She said she always dress elegantly, wore wigs and was never unkept. *They always moved *They never had any photo albums Was Ayu's mom trying to stop Ayu's dad from finding them? |

ehmmm~
this thread is getting interesting..haha ![]() LOL... ehmmm~ now i'm kinda believe that ayu's blood is mix with lots of bloods from her grandmas or grandpas or even her great grandmas or granpas... American/British or whoever ever came to Japan for war or businesses.. but we're 100% for sure she's 100% fully japanese even though she probably has other blood on her... Japanese people were long long time ago mixed with other races.. |

ayumi is definately pure japanese
she looks very japanese, look at some japanese people and many japanese people are obsessed about american's, so its not shocking to know how much she is.. e.g she writes her surname last, the american way instead of the traditional japanese way (surname first) and having dark brown hair isnt non asian, many asian kids now adays have naturally brown hair, i even saw a kid on the subway with light brown hair, with his parents (ALL DARK HAIR) and his sisster had dark brown hair (it wasnt dyed becuz his eyebrows and body hair was light brown too) |
