What does everyone think of the new album? Haven't listened to it yet.

I skipped through the tracks to get a look at the album, and I feel that Dark Angel is a much better album. This album seems to fit in with the theme of "cute sexy", so I prefer Dark Angel much more. D:

Dark Angel sucked in my opinion, only good track was Shall we Dance. U Go Girl is enough for Album 3 to be better than Dark Angel. Though Ive yet to listen to any of the other tracks, U Go Girl has been too catchy to stop listening to

Okay listened to the whole album and I am totally loving it! My favourite album by Hyori! There are less tracks on this album that I dislike than Dark Angel.

I soooooooooooo hope the photobook leaks soon too.

Does anyone recall someone saying that Hyori had copied Amy Winehouse? I wonder how on earth they knew that before it even leaked. O__O

I think "Don't Cry" sounds a lot like "You Know I'm No Good" by Amy Winehouse, even though Don't Cry is a great song. XD

For me, the new album mixtures the best of Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Madonna and Amy Winehouse! That's why I rub it. Hyori never knew what was copyright.

Its pretty common for Korean artists to copy something from Western music. Its not really much of a surprise anymore, and it seldom becomes an issue since most of the time they just copy beats or style, not anything that can be considered copyright infringement. There are a few times it becomes more than that though. About 2 years back, Baby Vox used Tupac lyrics in their new album. It eventually became their downfall because their image was literally destroyed and they disbanded.

I listened through it once so far, and while definitely better than Stylish (not hard IMO XD) it barely touches on Dark Angel. While I don't really dislike any track on either one, I think the Dark Angel tracks are just stronger. Maybe they just played it safe with the composers on this album after the Get Ya fiasco on Dark Angel.

Wow so that's why Baby Vox disbanded, I never knew. D: At least the whole Britney incident didn't destroy Hyori. xD

Another time I recall korean music copying western was with Lee Minwoo, with the Explore M album. A lot of it sounds like Justin Timberlake and even some of the way he sings the lyrics sound exactly like something in a JT song.

The Britney incident didn't destroy Hyori but it hurt Dark Angel's album sales a lot. Get Ya's promotion stopped and it was a released single too so they are losing money there. It wasn't that big of an incident though because she did not copy Britney entirely, it would have had to be proven in court or something. Most of the time it never gets that far, because the U.S. songwriters/studio do not want to go through all that trouble or they can't prove the plagiarism, and thas just how it always been in the K-pop industry . She didn't flat out use pre-recorded verses of Tupac like Baby VOX did so she didn't get as much attention
