I think this day could be the day the music world dies...or will it really survive this crisis? I mean, there's Ayumi Hamasaki who is about to release a new single, we've got many other popular artists today, so what?

Simply speechless

I was born in a MJ-lovers house and was able to see him performing live when I was only 8 years old... devastated is not enough to express the deep feeling I have inside

The world has lost one of its most amazing individuals today, not only musically, even though the whole society has attacked him over the last 2 decades for things he did not do... Shameless

It's really disappointing about how his personal life outside of music really overshadowed his music progress...

I was in the car listening to this...

I really just...did not want it to be true when TMZ was reporting he was dead...

and then Entertainment Tonight and then CNN confirmed...

and...it's just...a very sad day, and week, for the Entertainment Industry. These people helped shape our industry and our culture.

It's so weird for me. I always saw these people as like, inhuman, like they'd be around forever, immortal.

My condolences to the families.

about the "discussion": Music has been dying for a while. Sure people know about the "things" that happened to Michael Jackson later in his life...but his influences for the music industry will never be forgotten.

It's everywhere. I mean think about it, if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't even have the type of music videos we have today.

I always thought it was really awful that people always attacked him...but for me, it doesn't really matter. He revolutionized the music industry. How many people in the history of the world can we say did that?

No one is going to forget that.

I don't exactly listen to Michael Jackson... but I have some songs that Adam Lambert sang... pretty impressive.

R.I.P... he was really one of the biggest icons in pop music. It's just really... regrettable that the last years of his life was just scandal, gossips, controversies... oh well.

i can't tell if your posts in this topic are serious or not.. everyone is going to survive, including the music industry. people will move on, but he will be remembered forever.

I haven't been on AHS in a while. But I had to come one here to pay my respects.

I can't either lol

honestly...Ayumi Hamasaki is nothing compared to Michael Jackson. She's not going to take the world on by storm or change anything.

We need another "him" to take music in a new direction and inspire new generations of people.

But that's just my opinion I guess.

I'm not going to jump on you like everyone else did. You are entitled to feel however you. If it impacts you that way then I hope you take this well.

Hmm I kinda feel mixed
I liked his songs but i stopped to think about him with all those scandals cause it was kinda troublesome....
of course I wish he can R.I.P.
but I would also be lying if I didn´t think about the thing perezhilton thought about (but not in the same rude way...rather than a publicity stunt to get him out of public live for ever...I´m not convinced yet) but he surly died to us rather he is really dead or not...so I wish him good luck in either is afterlife or new life
