Oh wow.. this is really surprising. I know I am catching news late but this is - wow.
I never thought it really was going to happen. But I still think they have chance to return together. After all the lawsuit thing it is just the logical result that they pause if they don't get what they want.
A once very famous german band also disbanded cause of their contract and .. I guess 3 years later? They made a big comeback with another label, saying they never wanted to disband but had to start over with better conditions..

This is really sad news, but I'm glad they were able to release a Best Album before this announcement. Maybe Avex knew about this all along and wanted to sell a few more CDs (with Breakout, toki wo tomete and non stop mix 2)
I wish the boys success in whatever they choose to do in the future though.

I don't really care. it's not like they broke up, and tore up their contract. When that happens. that is when I'll be sad. They seem to just be taking a hiatus.

Max Matsuura has been tweeting nonstop..gosh this man didn't even sleep..
poor him..i hope fans won't keep on pointing finger on him..
he has tried his best..
and he even mentioned that there will be messages from the 5 themselves to be revealed soon..

well, i think this is what will happen to a group after 5 years being together..and i think they're the only group who has less solo works if compare with any other boybands and i think they also wish to be like other groups to pursue their own individual wishes..to act, to sing a solo, to do whatever they want..so i think it's time, even though they're supposed to be the group who just have to sing because THEY'RE THE BEST OUT THERE, but still human will always have their own goals, and it's their right to choose what they want to do with their life, they can't always share with other ppl what they've earned..
so i understand the boys and i'll support the boys no matter what..

I hope fans will understand them and i still do hope that they can be back as TOHOSHINKI/DBSK/TVXQ one day again..

"Suspending activities" is generally used to mean breaking up, but not officially announcing it yet. Just so you know

yea he really doesnt want all this to happen, i mean these boys are so "precious" to avex, everyone kind of like them, composers, other singers, models, a script writer., they sell so good..and avex would be too stupid to let them go, but gosh, it's SME afterall..they own the boys' as a group..

oh no.. i just hope that they will suspend the activities as of now until they settle everything out and finally get back together after all the messes..
as of now, we're gonna enjoy what they boys offer as individuals..

definitely I'll support them even as solos/duos or whatever, but... it's just that they were so happy as 5 of them; as TVXQ that thinking of how they feel about this makes my heart break...

anyway about the sugercoating thing... there's a really high chance that "activities suspended" is a suger coated way to just mean disbanded; since disbanded is a big thing and would cause a huge uproar... they probably chose a less impact term for damage control. more importantly, more confirmation and information will arrive towards the end of April, so I guess what avex did was to use a general and less harmful term like "activities suspended" for now to at least give us fans a warning, so that IF when more information comes and it's been confirmed that they're disbanding, they can just announce it without fans killing themselves or something. but if they're not disbanding, then their suspension can be lifted lol.

it's part of a PR strategy

This is so sad. They're the only boyband I like and they can sing so well!

So they're separating because of legal issues? I assume SME has the final rights to the group, so it's SME making this happen? Even if Avex holds the rights to distribution and production in Japan, the existence of Tohoshinki still depends on SME right.
I'm just behind on this issue, read a little about the SME contract that started all this but am still not sure why it had to come to this.

And I wish them the best in their solo activities. This will all be in Japan right? Hopefully we see them in solo releases and dramas soon.

waterballoon, well even though what you wrote probally right, but i still get my hopes high even though I've been all ready to hear what the worst news in the end..since there're still no confirmed announcement about they're going to disband, I think I will still keep believe that they're really working something out, avex, the boys and SME..untl the further notice, i choose to believe that they still need more times..

read that avex is going to meet with SME around this April..don't know what they're going to talk about..
then also about the whole thing, disband or not, it'll be announced either in June/July..
that's all i've been hearing about..

oh yeah, I wonder why they still using XIAH Junsu as Junsu's stage name in his solo single..i mean they can't use TVXQ's stage names right now, right? because XIAH, HERO, MICKY, U-KNOW and MAX are literally belong to SME..
and that's what confuse me right now..

and right now, i'm really curious, so as individuals, JaeChunSu already under avex in Japan? some said they're under a new management which is still the part of SME, it's like the new small management company by SME.. that's what i also not quite understand..they have problems with SME and why they are still under the company which has relation to SME..

arghhh all of these are totally confusion!! just have to wait..
as of now, enjoy JJ's upcoming drama and Junsu's solo single..and Chun's dorama on BeeTV, i don't even know if there's a way to watch Chun's dorama which's gonna be aired through mobile phones..

T__T most likely that Max/avex doesn't have the rights for Tohoshinki to do group activities in Japan T__T it's all SME~

yeah I'm pretty avex only is the company that just manages their Japanese activities.. most like the decisions and all still need to be approved and made by SME : /

hmm about the Xiah thing, I actually think the solo single has been conceptualized a while ago because they do need to at least have the songs recorded or half-way done to announce it, so maybe that's why they still used Xiah Junsu and not Kim Junsu

but well for the COLORS single, it was Jejung & Yuchun from Tohoshinki, not HERO & MICKY from Tohoshinki, so maybe it's just a personal preference thing by the members themselves

i don't know..hmm it's just weird that they still use the XIAH after they announced their activities as group suspended...which mean they should have used Junsu from Tohoshinki instead? well, actually i think it's really only have to be Junsu only..or Kim Junsu~

but whatever it is, we still have to wait for the new single coming out soon..
