A bit early in the COVID pandemic I believe he went to a party despite lockdown/stay at home orders. He was then put on a suspension or something at that time because of his actions and then it resulted in the outright departure a while after.

Johnny's announced on May 26 that Tegoshi would go on hiatus from the entertainment industry. The announcement confirmed an unspecified weekly publication's prior allegations that Tegoshi had attended a drinking party with numerous women in Tokyo in late April, when the country was still under a state of emergency and advising people to avoid large social gatherings. However, the announcement claimed that certain details in the report were inaccurate. The announcement added that the company had been advising Tegoshi to be careful with his actions, but that he "failed to understand."

I feel what Tegoshi did regarding him breaching COVID-19 rules was the last straw that broke the camel's back for J&A

Before that , except Masuda , the other 3 members all got into trouble when NEWS was in the midst of celebrating their 15th anniversary so this's not a 1 off thing , it's an accumulation of irresponsible behaviour which's almost similar to what happened to ex KAT-TUN's Tanaka

My sister said she wasn't surprised by this & felt Tegoshi was real foolish

Guess this's what happens when you're part of the Akanishi troop -_- although I find no evidence that Tegoshi was part of it

Personally seeing NEWS go from 9 members to 8 to 6 to 4 & now 3 members over the course of almost 2 decades , to say it's depressing it's an understatement :x

So it seems even before the tabloids ousted Tegoshi , he already wanted to leave after NEWS finished their now cancelled STORY tour :s

And considering the last few years a lot of Johnnys have left after being under J&A for more than 2 to 3 decades , I'm not so surprised

- It was announced through email on Jun 22nd to FC members who hit for STORY tickets that the entire tour has been cancelled and refunds will be made. They are planning for an event in Fall 2020, and there will be a stream on Jun 28th from 17:00JST onwards.

- On Jun 24th, it was announced through the drama's twitter that "Nigatsu no Shosha" will be postponed. Shige was supposed to be part of this drama originally scheduled for this summer. The postponement is out of how the COVID-19 situation is still ongoing, and the production team decided postponing it will protect the cast, made up of many young actors, better. They will announce the new broadcast dates once details are firm.

- "Tegomass no Radio" will be renamed to "Masumasu Radio" from Jul 1st onwards, and will continue with Massu and Sakura.

Yamashita Tomohisa Stars in New Ad for Hiroshi Fujiwara's Moncler Line

On July 2, the new collection of Hiroshi Fujiwara‘s Moncler Genius 2020 line, 7 Moncler Fragment Hiroshi Fujiwara, will be released. To promote the release, a short film has been released, starring Yamashita Tomohisa.

In the clip, Hiroshi’s new digital single, “TERRITORY”, can be heard. Out June 29, “TERRITORY” was produced by Watanabe Shunsuke (Schroeder-Headz), with a chorus by Yamaguchi Ichiro (Sakanaction) and bass by Hama Okamoto (OKAMOTO’S).

The song is described as a blend of city pop, folk, and soul. A short video for the song has been released. It can be seen below, along with the Moncler ad starring Yamapi

Tegoshi Yuya launches Instagram account

Former NEWS member Tegoshi Yuya has launched an official Instagram account (@yuya.tegoshi1054).

In his first post, he wrote, "I started Instagram. Everyone, follow me!" sharing a selfie. He then uploaded a photo of himself and YouTuber Hikaru saying, "Dinner with Hikaru! It was delicious."

Tegoshi's contract with Johnny's & Associates was terminated on June 19th. Then on the 23rd, he held a press conference talking about his thoughts on going independent. He also recently started Twitter and YouTube.
