I imagined something like this: Outside is cloudy and windy. Ayu in her house is waking up. It's cloudy outside, yet she's smily. Then, she goes outside and walks in the street. Everybody wonders why she's smiling in a such ugly day. Ayu walks happy and proud. Then some kids fellows her... Then some teens, adults, fellows her. Soon, a huge crowd is fellowing her. But where is she going? (i don't have any ideas for this part) In the end, the whole crowd sing with her and the sun shines on them.
To me, that would be the, very easy way out, it would be pretty, but the pv looks pretty already.

Originality comes when it.s something u won.t expect, and I don.t know why ppl still coompare ayu to others when she.s prooven she won.t repeat herself, she.s always doing something new, something different that she has Not done before.

What a great PV... I have to say that I disagree with so many of you. I really like this PV, very original (as in Daybreak, which I also like). The brightness of the lights represents the future those kids are striving for. Ayu is not the main attraction in this PV, those bright lights and the kids are.

Sad to say that I'm really feeling out of place in the message board. The songs/PVs that you guys seem to hate (Fairyland, B&D, Greatful Days, Daybreak..., and now Born to be), I love. I definitely like Ayu's newer materials more than her older ones. The level of negativity in this forum has gotten so bad, that I'm ready to get the hell out of here and spend more time in a gentler forum where most of those who post are really Ayu no.1 fans.

Do you even HAVE MTV to compare the crap they show there with something as good as this? Ok we're entitled to own opinions, but as bad as you think Born To Be is, how can you say its worse than the current crap: Ashlee Simpson's Boyfriend, miscellaneous rap songs, Chris Brown, JAMES BLUNT?!

Yep, and even with that status Daybreak hit number 2 anyway. Startin' is obviously getting number 1 whether you like it or not.

I Agree with you! and your advice is actually quite good. I'll keep it on mind!

This used to be a more friendly forum

Yeah. More Ayu would've been nice.. but there's usually a point behind Ayu's PVs no matter how 'dull' or unayulike it is. We'll probably get some clarification.. hopefully along with some for Startin' as well.

I really liked the ideas behind it, but it could have been better. Maybe less of the dancing man. XDD

They should have tried showing Ayu's face a bit more, and maybe switching the dancing man with a female gymnist or other sporty stuff to promote the Olympics. XD All in all it wasn't too terrible. It was better thay Daybreak IMO. XD

I spend the first few seconds squinting and thinking that I was in need of new glasses lol

The bright lights symbolising the achievement of dreams etc. is cute, but after a while gets a bit blinding.
The dancing guys reminded me of Leni Riefenstahl's "Olympia"

I just watched it on YouTube and all I can say is that it's not one of my favorites. I wish you could see Ayu more and the lights weren't so bright but I still love the song.

I'm sorry, but the fat girl who wanted to be a chef made me crack up. Nice choice, director!

This PV was pretty bad, I doubt I will watch it again. That almost naked guy freaked me out; he didn't even move like a human being should.

However I think some people look back on Ayu's older PVs with rose-colored glasses, so to speak. I think older PVs like Fly High, Depend on You, Voyage, "The Trilogy" (Vogue - Far Away - Seasons) were all pretty boring.

I usually read other Ayu fans before downloading a PV. Most people think it's quite bad so I won't download it.

i agree with you 100%. I really disliked the PV's for the trilogy in particular as well as Voyage and some others. She's had some great PV's but she's had some horrid ones too. And that applies not only to now, but here whole career.

Sorry, but I was referring to the song, not the PV. The PV might be embarrassing indeed, but the song definitely isn't worse than MTV stuff.

The PV isn't bad after all, aside from that creepy guy. Its actually pretty and kinda symbolic. And the water on the floor is so cool.

I said it before, and I'll say it again: the majority of quality in Ayu songs has gone down since 2000.
