Lets just ignore the posts of these who say that Kuu is just one of these girls who get attention easy because of her erotic style and those who say she didnt work hard to get where she is now and who say her music sucks...so we can stop this..I know sometimes read someone wrote against her makes you very very angry but =( lets ignore this its the only way to stop wars in here I think....

It is sad that they thought she was chubby and such, but it seems like you have to be good looking along with having a good voice. She should've known that.
=/ The only thing that turns me off is her sexy image, actually. I don't like watching her pvs like JUICY. She should have more control over her image. There are other very succesful singers out there who don't have a sexy image and are more famous than Koda Kumi.
I know she's not perfect. And actually, as far as beginning goes, Kumi sounded better than Ayu did. Ayu just screetched her way through ASfXX, yet it somehow sold a million copies. In my opinion, neither were good when they started out. It took them both a few years to become good singers.

I can understand that but Koda really doesn't have a choice in the matter. Its not like she chooses to use her sexy look. Avex isn't giving her much of a choice.

We are not discussing about me, truehappiness. personally I don't feel comfortable showing much skin, I wouldn't be in that situation anyway because I'm crazy shy. But honestly, this is only a bump in the road to the big picture. Koda stresses that being a singer/entertainer is her dream. This is the way she's gonna get what she wants, in the end it'll all be worth it, in the end she'll have the choice to do what she wants. I wouldn't going to break off something I've worked so hard and long for. If she quits avex what's she gonna do? what record company would sign her on? Not everyone can say what they and do what they want and expect to have instant stardom the way they want it.
Its like having a job that you really hate but you stick to it because you need to.

You know, I never knew how ASFXX manage to sell 1 million. The singles for it weren't exactly hits.

If being sexy is the only way to succeed, and to achieve a dream is to hate it, then really, I would have just quit.

I split the last page or so of posts since they've done nothing but elongate a situation that doesn't need to happen. People, if you don't like Koda, don't post in threads about her and get fans upset/annoyed etc... It really doesn't achieve anything. But at the same time, you Koda fans shouldn't rise to the bait and instead just ignore the offending posts - not everyone can like everything, and shouting at them (from either side) isn't gonna change matters.

Anywho, I read an interview with Koda in a UK magazine a year or so back now and she was aksed about her sexy image etc... She said that a lot of it was her own idea and that she wanted to have the "sexiest image" in Jpop. I have no problem with Kuu's image, sure it may stand out amongst other Jpop artists, but i hardly believe anyone would bat an eye if she was a western singer.

Yeah...but in terms of chart position. None of the Asfxx singles even broke into the top 5 and by that day's standard none broke the 200K. And then the album came in and hit the million chart. It doesn't have anything to do with today's decreased CD sales and whatsonot.

^or avex are forcing the cd stores to take in a lot of copies, so the stores are forced to sell them out. so they kept suggesting asfxx to customers or play the album more often....

^It would be possible but Avex wasn't that powerful back then...plus Ayu wasn't a big artist then, so I see no reason for Avex to do that...

The thing with calling second one best is, that either way it doesn't look good. If it's a best album, then Koda would be the artist that released 2 best within half a year, and it doesn't look that great on her discography. If it's an original album, then avex is taking an original album and passing it off as a best for it to sell, which is even worse...

They really capitalized off her in the past year, though. BEST, 12 singles, BEST 2nd Session... That's a lotta suga... Talk about striking when the iron is hot.

But still, all of that material, plus her two singles since all that hubbub were strong. I imagine her next original album will be out soon. Maybe one more single, considering she's already released 5 new songs.
