hi~! i am starting to get a little worried about how this will physically look... i know its the thought that counts but - lets be relaistic yeah?

its great to have volunteers around the world but how will we keep things constant? i know the way i will make pages will be different to njanjayrp, whose will be different to rikku411...

does anyone have any thoughts on this? its great to say that there is plenty of time to do all this stuff but some of us work full time far from our homes and cannot work on this for hours and hours a day...

It would be really sad if someone put effort into their thing, only to arrive a couple days too late. But I guess we'll put up a list of who has sent letters, and then check when doing the scrapbook that everyone has their letters in it.
It takes 2 week for something from East Asia to get anywhere in the EU, if its sent by regular airmail.Shipping a letter costs about 2-3 euros at most.I do agree that the cheapest way it the most riskiest one, but people can always send e-mails.

And well it's true that all the pages will be different, still it is more fun and it's less boring that way, as every one of us will make something unique ^^

As for it being consistent, I wouldn't worry too much...sure it would be wonderful to have a totally cohesive look, but then that's not being realistic, because we can't put the whole scrapbook on one person to make to ensure that...unless anybody can offer suggestions on what to use and how to keep the scrapbook having unity.

Oh, yes, if handwriting and mailing the letter is too expensive for people (I don't see how it could, postage usually isn't skyrocket high), or if you just prefer to type the letter, then you can email it to any of the volunteers. Another thing, if you want to handwrite still, you can scan it, and email the scanned letter as well! Hope that helps!

I'm a bit late, but the idea sounds amazing! If you need help from Brazil, count me in.
I think there should be a limit to the size of the message as well as a pattern size of sheets to begin with.

ohh, don't worry about that haha ^-^... we're all gonna have a basic look to it, but in terms of how we put it together in the end, i like the fact that it will be different... that makes it more fun and unique =p

ooh, awesome! if you haven't already, PM Draggi.

Also, yeah, we have specifications, but they're not up yet because we're still putting everything together =p

well...i don't know about the cost to send international letters from latin america to europe... but i think is better if we (the fans) donate money for the print cost..and just one person (team) finish the etire book.

That's why we recommend people sending money with their letters to help pay for the cost to get it from place to place.

maybe its better each zone send one book and not one book for the entire world.

Plz See this & imagine:

My proposal.

Fan Email-> Regional Volunteer -> Southamerica Book-> Japan Avex employee -> Ayu = easy no too much donations.
Canada -> NorthAmerica Book-> Japan.... = easy no to much donations

The entire world proposal:

Fan or group of fans in brazil for example-> Email to South America Volunteer -> Europe via email -> "World Book" (size???) -> japan employee Avex -> Ayu= a lot of problem + big donations.

only we need a "parameters" of the books, each regional volunteer print the letters of the fans, make the book, and send directly to japan (and pay the cost).

parameters= size (letter, legal?), color or B&W, how many messages per sheet (a maximun, a minimum), pictures alowed? how many? color?, book hard o soft?, to meny messages= more books?, language? english? japanese? both, with introduction or not?,

to many questions......................................... ........

if this is the case, each "volunteer" need the mail to send it to japan avex employee (what a problem.... al qaeda can do something ¬¬).

it is a federal offence in australia to post or recieve money in the mail (i imagine around the world too) ~ if people send money orders it is just a waste of money. i think a paypal option is better.

as for one person creating the book/pages - i must be honest and agree with perfectodub - but i do know that its alot of work so i dont think that is gonna happen. I know everyone saying that its great for it to all look different - i see your point, but ... i dunno... for something that we're all putting so much effort and time into - shouldnt we try to make it as polished as possible?

o__o I've received money from England before...hmm, but that was a few years ago. I'm pretty sure it's NOT an offense here, to be honest, but I'll definitely check up on the other countries (that have volunteers here). Paypal is a good option; unfortunately, not everyone is able to do that. Like we said before, PayPal is the RECOMMENDED option, and hidden cash is only if you can't do that (except for in Australia).

Well, we'll definitely have to set up a rule on what kind of paper you can use. (Which we've already given the size, which is the size of paper that will fit into a sheet protector.) I'm saying the color should be white...plain, but we'll already be adding other stuff to the pages anyway. I mean, even one person's page's won't all look the same - that's the point of a scrapbook. Not perfect, but not messy. Just...kind of laid out, spread out, sort of.

Thousands of people do it every day - even here in australia but it is still a federal offence in MOST countries. This may not be a problem for most but i work for Queensland Police - and if even something so simple like that arrives in my mail and im caught, then i will lose my job and be charged. hehe so it does carry slightly higher risk for me. (and thats not if the postal staff dont steal it)

I get what you mean about the pages being individual - i guess i just had a different vision for it. its actualy getting me a bit worried now - im not good at THAT kind of scrapbooking - and so i dont know if i could produce pages properly... hmmm i dunno~

Truthfully i envisaged it as a bound product - more simple-cool-eligant than individual sections. It might sound stupid to everyone but thats how i saw it - truth is, there would be more work needed on PC for this way but as for compliling it - it would take no time at all - it would all be sent to a printer and taken care of by them. In the end you would be left with a polished beautiful book that will last for ever - it could still include people's handwriting and drawings etc, and once you add up the cost of everyone's postage (for hand written letters, and posting the pages) i bet it would come pretty close to printing costs. Again its just my thoughts~ i know this was set up to be a scrapbook - i guess im just trying to say - that people have different ideas or perceptions of what a scrap book looks like.

^Yea I thought a more cohesive looking book would be better too, which is why I suggested everyone scanning their messages so it could be printed on the same paper.

But if it's all on different paper and stuff, it could be pretty cool too, like it's really collected from all over the world.

^ To clear that up for you, the paper you write it on (either handwritten or typed) should be A4 or smaller... no bigger

We haven't "officially" started accepting anything as we sort out some stuff, but count on later this week perhaps.

Interesting idea, will definitely want to contribute my page as well
I've sent Ayu a birthday card 2 years ago but got no answer (I sent it to the only known Avex address I could find on the Avex site), it also probably arrived too late...

^ Maybe she saw it, you never know... but she probably gets 3490384 letters each week so, no time to reply maybe.
