She sounds fine to you and to anyone who shares your opinion, but it's quite obvious that some other people don't think she sounds very polished. I like Leah for some mysterious reason but even I agree that she has a weak voice - just about the only song I thought she sang well was "Missing."

Anyway, I'll give "Vanilla" and "Love Paradox" a listen and see what I think.

^ I agree

Leah doesn't have an amazing voice or even a great voice but I just enjoy her. I think she has good music and I still think she has potential but she needs to step away from this Vanilla/L.O.V.E U type songs. Cute as it may be, it just doesn't sound right on her voice for some reason.

I think it might be a cuteness overload XD I dunno if this would really work, but I think a very soft image/musical style would work well with Leah. If she stuck to ballads or slower pop songs I think she'd carve out a nice path all on her own. I think it also suits her image *ahem* a little nicer - though for some reason she keeps making these really sad faces for some of her covers (Destiny Line and Vanilla's covers look like she's about to cry D:~)

I'll listen to Love Paradox now and edit the post with my thoughts. Leah's fun to listen to, if nothing else.

ETA:
Spoiler:
Okay, Love Paradox is basically the styles I love from Namie and Kuu, so it's nice to hear her try her hand at it. I just think her voice has a hard time competing with the music? Maybe it's my speakers, though XD Idk it just didn't seem like I could hear her clearly at a few parts. I still love the song though. It's fun.

As for Under the Same Sky - THIS is what I mean when she should do soft songs!! Her voice doesn't sound as strained here, nor does it seem like she's competing with the music throughout the song to be heard. It's such a lovely song... It sounds soooo gorgeous and relaxing. Man, I think I like this even more than Love Paradox D:

Vanilla: Okay this is the kind of pop I usually avoid lolol. It's just not my thing but I'll persevere. It's sugary and... well, idk. I'm not really liking it all that much I guess it's because it's one of those summer-y releases and they're supposed to be upbeat, yay~ awesome summer songs, and that usually runs opposite to my tastes. Vocally though I think she sounds good, just not very lively. Like I've said before, I think soft pop songs and ballads are Leah's best way to make herself a hit: they fit her range so well and she just gets a little lost in more poppy and upbeat tracks, IMHO.

LOVE SWEET CANDY: Seems like a cross between Love Paradox and Vanilla D: Interesting, interesting... The title is a little misleading lol. I was expecting Vanilla to sound more like this and LSC to be a little more sugary. It's good, I guess. It doesn't really hold my attention too much, though - it's acceptable but there's really not much to it, you know? Formulaic.

^ It's really a fun song - I wonder if she'll let that be a dominant style on her upcoming album? Speaking of which, ho'crap a new album already? D: I hope both Leah and her record people feel confidant in her abilities to keep pumping stuff out this quickly, and that they're not just trying to cash in fast :/

Under the Same Sky is a wonderful song,. Like I said earlier, her vocals sound best in ballads, IMO.

I think jpop music listeners (not sure if you're one) might focus much more on vocals, since their artists usually don't make their own music, so they compensate by focusing on vocals.

I really think if she sounded that bad on Destiny Line, it wouldn't have hit the streets. She might not have an amazing vocal range, but with the kind of music she sings, I don't think she needs it anyway. Sure, on lives, her nervousness or whatever gets the best of her and since she also dances, her vocals sound choppy. But on studio recordings, I just fail 100% at seeing he problem, just enjoy the music and all will be fine.

Even if I thought she had a bad voice, she's trying and it's not like she sings songs like "My Heart Will Go On" or something where she would have serious trouble pulling it off.

Nah I'm a JPop listener, too - I'm just really picky I guess XD

But I do agree with you about two things: that if her vocals were really *that* bad Destiny Line wouldn't have been released (and I'm not saying she was awful, only that she has a soft voice and I think it gets overshadowed a bit by some of her songs) and that if she was trying to pull off "My Heart Will Go On" there might be some trouble there. I actually chuckled at that comment.

I don't mind if she sounds a little nervous in live performances - I think the one I saw of her, which was brief, was fine because I sympathized with her and her situation. It must be sooo scary bringing yourself into a music scene in ANY country, much less a foreign one (and much less the Japanese one, which seems really competitive to me) and she's only just starting out, so the girl definitely deserves a lot of credit for that.

Yep it's like I've been saying all along, it's really hard to be doing what she's doing at all, let alone in a foreign country where she doesn't have a mastery of the language. She's doing the best she can and that's all we can ask of her.
Destiny Line was really good IMO so I can't wait for this new album

InoriNoUta, I also chuckled while writing the My Heart Will Go On comment

And I also have to concede, in a couple of her lives I have seen, she, for whatever reasons can give the impression she is a bad performer, but she's great actually... well, maybe not GREAT, but I love her, and I'm blinded by her *add an infatuated face in here*

And for the record, my favorite Leah song is "Vanilla" it's soooo amazing!!!!

Hopefully this new album will be the bomb!!!! I just wish Victor would hurry up and confirm!!!!!

About that, I have read many people saying they love "Again and Again" but I just get kinda bored with it, it's nice, but not a song I like to repeat after I finished listening.

My top 5 would be:
1.- Vanilla
2.- Love Paradox
3.- IMPOSSIBLE
4.- Koi Shiyou
5.- Missing

and all the rest of course!!

I'll have to look around for some more of her live performances, then . And all this Leah talk makes me want to listen to Destiny Line again as well, lolol. I'll have to break myself away from ayaka to do that...

Ooh good songs. I would put Impossible as 6 or maybe tied with Vanilla and of course there is Aishiteru ~Love Story.~ Hmmm, maybe it would just be easier to make a top 10 XD
