I think its too much of an easy answer to say that the only reason he is still around is because of a contract. Because usually people like to espouse about how much control Ayu has in her career and that she has the power to work with whoever she wants - it seems like only when it comes to Kazuyoshi is her artistic control bound by a contract.

I will say that I don't think his other covers are bad. Not GREAT, but not bad either. His PVs though have been atrocious imo and he has had more misses than hits when it comes to non cover photo shoots.

I kind of sense that she saves money by using Kazuyoshi.

Rather than having to spend a small fortune to get Leslie / ND CHOW [if they even cost that much], she can pay Kazuyoshi like 1000yen and he'd be happy, HAHAHA. Thus saving money for a nice concert photographer or concert PV director. [Like Wataru Takeishi or Shin Watanabe, someone who worked under Leslie Kee at his studio or something]..

well. The hairstyle is amazing and fits ayu really.

the bikini colour is exotic and perfect for that background.

The background of Bali with the sea and geraniums is simply cool, fresh, summerish.

I think these were supposed to be shot in the nature, but they look completely fake & over-ova-photoshopped and plastic, starting from her face and background and ending with boobs & fake tan

her pose looks weirdo and her face expression looks as if she is mentally-diseased

her hair looks super though, but the outfit is somewhat not very good for a single cover

oh my, oh my...why can't I kill her new photographer? can she at least use HIJIKA (he shot GUILTY) for a change? even he was better, no?

But you also need to think that if say he was under a contract, and Ayu/avex just fired him, they would be breaching the contract, which leads to compensation and other legal affairs... which appear to be far too troublesome imo.

And I so agree with your last paragraph! I really think his album/single covers so far have been quite okay... I in particular love the GREEN/Days cover... the others are fine. But this is really a shock for me... cos they're really horrible...

And his PVs are the worst PVs from Ayu, honestly. I don't mean the plot/concept or whatever... it's just the way he's directing her to act and all the composition that make them suck so much.

And for magazines... yeah he's really more of a misser than a hitter... sometimes they look good... like Vivi Sep 09... I really like that photo shoot, I just think one photo looks particularly disgusting.

Why ? Easy ! Look fake, cheap, bad photosop work, stupid and she doesn't look good at all. That's the worst Photoshop work I ever seen ! Even a beginner could do better !

Sometimes if I didn't know she was rich and is part of a major I would think she is indie and have no money to shot her cover !

GREEN/Days were maybe not original but at last they were pretty !

To be honest, I really love the concepts behind these PVs... GREEN was visually stunning, nevertheless Ayu's face in the beginning is honestly a turn off, and the weird transitions are honestly confusing and illogical.

As I already said here, sometimes the trasitions aren't smooth cuz they aren't meant to be smooth... Of course, it doesn't mean people should love it, everyone can like or dislike anything they want to... But I have problems with all the "this is technically bad" or "his transitions makes no sense" when IMO they were meant to look like that^^

Is there any way to be positive about this? Its clearly a rushed work and its clearly not up to par with her previous covers. I'm sorry but I wish I can rush over and embrace everything Ayu puts out there but I just cant. I dunno....some people might think it looks nice. Whether you think its gorgeous (her body is rockin atleast) or horrible, there's no denying the laziness in these covers.
