Christmas came, and after opening all my presents, I was disappointed to discover that among those gifts, this treasure was not one of them. Then, my mom handed all of us kids a clue, which kicked off a scavenger-type hunt for one more final Christmas item. After deciphering the clues left in each location, I was lead into the bathroom where there was a giant box. It was HEAVY. I thought, damn it, this can't be the CD because it weighs a ton! I open the box, and inside was a giant dictionary. Beside it, was this CD. I was overjoyed. I ran into my room, and proceeded to have my mind blown by the quality tracks on this masterpiece! To this day, that event reigns supreme as my personal "Best Christmas Ever

After all these years, I still don't like Marionette (both song and video).

Also, I forgot how good of a video Sparkle is. The concept is still interesting haha.

I wish she'd use Shimo-chan again. I always liked his work. I prefer him to Leslie. Though they both do the diva thing, Leslie's work always comes off as looking conceited to me. Shimo's is more campy.

Also, Shimo uses so much color in his work!

Speaking of color, why can't Ninagawa and Ayu do a collab?

YOUR LIPS TO MAX MATSUURA'S EARS, TBH

edit: Ninagawa should have been the creative director for the Colours covers/booklet shoot

You'd think with evolution being used in Helter Skelter, that would've led to some form of relationship between the two haha. Oh well.

The video is everything (that hairstyle alone was fire) and the song has gained major credibility amongst her discography over time. It really does cultivate a truly unique atmosphere and is perfect for eerie autumn evenings. I love how it slowly evolves and how the last chorus is such a peak.

Great experience. MY STORY is also my favorite album and the first CD I've ever owned. MY STORY came out on the year I became a fan and I was extremely excited of it! I'd really like to have it but I was just a primary school student then and I live in a small town. And then, I saw MY STORY'S commercial on a Singapore TV channel thus knew that it was sold in Singapore. Fortunately, my father would be going on a trip to Singapore and I immediately asked him to buy it for me. I couldn't be happier on the day he went back, I just went back from my English tuition class and greeted by the pinkish MY STORY album... I was overwhelmed! And you know, I asked my father to buy the CD+DVD version even though we didn't have a DVD player at home. My father bought the player eventually LOL. I'd put the CD on my disc player and listen to it whenever I was free at night. And the album was like a 'toy' for me, I had to grab it everyday, flipping over the booklet, until I lost the obi

I'd like to congratulate myself on being an Ayu fan for 10 years as well. I am a college student now. (time fliessss)

I felt so blessed because I finally saw her live at a-nation singapore last October.

MY STORY is my favorite Ayu album, and also the first album she released after I jumped full fledge into fandom lol. I know that probably factors a bit into it being my favorite, but I do genuinely think it's one of her best albums. For me, it's probably her only album that really tells a story just through the music itself, in a weird way I can't really explain.

I need to buy a new copy still :\ Mine is all scratched up lol

I also hit my 10 year Ayu Anniversary this year - I was 18 when I bought my first Ayumi album A Ballads and am now 29. My Story was the first "new" album release from Ayumi I bought. My fave song initially was Inspire!

^ Same as me! I knew Kuu and Hikki first of all, cause of FFX2 and KH, but it was all the Jpop I would listen for almost half a year before giving chances to other singers, and I had just started listening to Namie when I downloaded GUILTY. I wasn't much into rockish back then so I didn't enjoy it as much as PLAY, but when MW came out it just blew my mind and I was like "okay, let's give her album another chance"
