I might be a sucker for songs like this, but I really think Beautiful's awesome. I was sure my post would make you want to listen to it earlier, haha. (it wasn't my intention, though. sorry!!) I want the new album ASAP too!

Oh god I hope she doesnt cover requiem like she did moral no soushiki. That was a mess. Worse than all the ayu drama of the past year.

Best album "TAPESTRY OF SONGS - THE BEST OF ANGELA AKI" coming 5th of March 2014... and it seems that will be the last we hear of Angela. She posted the following message on Facebook and her official site, and if Google Translate isn't fooling me too much, she's saying that she's moving to America, this is her last release and after a tour in the spring, her music activities in Japan will end.

みなさんにお伝えしたいことがあります。少し長くなってしまいますが、今の私の素直な気持ちに従って書いて みました。

来年2014年秋から、アメリカの音楽大学に留学する決心をしました。 夫と息子の家族三人でアメリカに移り、日本での音楽活動は、春から始まる全国ツアー終了後、無期限に停止し ます。

私は来年37歳になります。18歳で入学したワシントンDCの大学では国際政治を勉強しましたが、音楽大学 で専門教育をうけるのは、実はこれがはじめてに なります。現在とりかかっているブロードウェイ・ミュージカルプロジェクトを成功させるためにも、更なる夢 を叶えるためにも、大きな決断をする必要があり ました。日本での音楽活動を無期限停止にすることには、とても悩みました。ただ、これがラストチャンスであ るという気持ちもあり、中途半端な状態に自分を 置きたくありませんでした。自分の夢を実現させるためには、これからの数年間、新しい環境で勉強に集中し創 作活動に打ち込むべきだと考えました。そして 37歳の新入生になることにしました。

最初に私の作品を発表したのが2004年。あれから10年間、私の音楽を愛し応援してくださるみなさんのお かげで、素晴らしい貴重な経験をすることができ ました。史上初の日本武道館ピアノ弾き語り公演や、合唱曲として多くの若者達に歌い継がれていく楽曲をつく ることもできました。しばらく日本を離れること になりますが、私はこれからも楽曲を作り続け、歌い続け、みなさんに音楽を届けていくつもりです。そして近 い将来、パワーアップしてまた必ず帰ってきたい と思っています。

2006年最初の武道館公演のときに発表した新曲「サクラ色」の中でのメッセージを、今あらためて自分の胸 に刻み込んでいます。

I'm glad for a best album! Definitely going to purchase it. But sad that she's ending all activities in Japan...but I wish the best for her.

Anyways, yes, she's over 30 and she has a family...I hope she will continue to do well here in the States! I have to wonder where she will stay and what she will do with both her life there as well as social media...
