ok, flv and mkv are not formats! they are just a containers. Both mkv and flv may contain the same videodata types. difference between remuxed mkv and flv with the same h264 video and aac audio is like 20 mb for 2 hours of video. flv is just more convenient for streaming than mkv due to some technical issues.

Yes that's what I meant, either a convert to xvid (avi) or h264 (mp4/mkv). Even if the flash file is small enough, its not as compatiable as the other two to playback and could probably be compressed further.

well, ustream already broadcasts in h264, and the broadcast quality was like 900kbps so I doubt any more compression would safe the quality. But from compability issues yeah, someone might remux the thing to mkv.

You know what, direct stream rip of Utada's Wild Life Ustream broadcast was just about 800 mb. Same with Ayu. My rip was a direct one without any conversion, though it was a mixture of small segments of the show, the size was small. So original rip without conversion would be 100 % less than 1 gb.

^ 2 hours of B'z show in LA were 750 mb. So Ayu's 2h40min show would be a little bbit more than 1 GB ^_^
