Well, it was mentioned that she didn't wanted to release it just yet because she thought it wasn't exactly perfect and done yet. So, I hope she takes all the time she needs for the next single!

マキシ・シングル『BLUE BIRD』の情報が、一部の情報誌やCD店のHPなどに、タイトル曲の「BLUE BIRD」と「Beautiful Fighters」に加えて、もう1曲A面曲が収録される《3曲トリプルA面のマキシ・シングル》と紹介さ れていました。

事実、当初は上記のような内容で進行しておりました。が、制作進行上で、書き下ろし曲は、タイトル曲の「B LUE BIRD」と「Beautiful Fighters」の２曲、さらに3曲目に「Ladies Night ～another night～」、そして４曲目に「BLUE BIRD (Harderground remix)」を収録するという形に決定しました。

つまりは、書き下ろし２曲とリアレンジ１曲、リミックス１曲という収録形態になり、当初の予定とは変わりま したが、浜崎本人はもちろん、スタッフ共により良い作品を、納得のいく作品を、と求めた結果ですので、ご理 解頂ければと思います。

Information regarding the maxi single "BLUE BIRD" was introdudced in some informational magazines and CD store websites as a "triple A-side maxi single" with an additional A-side song recorded in addition to the title song, "BLUE BIRD" and "Beautiful Fighters".

In fact, at first we were going ahead with the above-mentioned contents. However, as we went on, we decided that the included new songs should take shape in both the title-song "BLUE BIRD" and "Beautiful Fighters", plus "Ladies Night ~another night~" as the third song, and also "BLUE BIRD (Harderground remix)" as a fourth track.

In other words, the tracklisting has changed from the intial plan, becoming two new songs, one re-arranged song, and one remix, but we hope you understand that this is, of course, the intentional result of Hamasaki herself, together with her staff, for a better piece of work - a more satisfying piece of work.

With confidence and feelings of gratitude for the ever-supportive fans, we will be putting out Hamasaki Ayumi's commemorable 40th single: the summer special maxi single, "BLUE BIRD"! Please look out for it!

Hmm..I guess she feels summer as "fun at the beach" It could be fun if she changes it a bit. I mean she could be an Indian princess bellydancing at the beach next year! XD (or would you rather have a PV of Ayu spewing blood from her eyes while little demonic children drink it up with metal music in the background?)

She did that to WHATEVER. The lyrics of the song sound quite optimistic but the PV is totally the opposite as well as the arrangements of the song. I guess the song is probably an irony. But yep, I have to completely agree with Demure Dusk on this - with the song BLUE BIRD I couldn't really think of anything else other than a beach. Cliche, obviously, but the song is definitely beach thematic. The instrumental interludes pretty much makes me think of "beach". BLUE BIRD actually has a lot of reminescences of certain videogames songs which are usually from beach stages. To the regular listener the song might just sound like happy summer pop, but again using the VG comparison, they usually use tunes like those for beach stages.

You are getting your stories confused. Namie is divorced from her husband(Sam of TRF) It was her mother that was murdered by Namie's uncle in law. The uncle then committed suicide. Makes me wish Namie would write more of her own songs - she certainly has the experiences to draw from.

BLUE BIRD PV is a tiny tiny bit boring, but its beauty makes up for that imo XD I like it!

Boring, unoriginal. Even if it took place at a beach, there could have been a storyline or something. Reminded me too much of Fairyland and the dancing around reminded me too much of Greatful days.

I bet that Beautiful fighters will also take place at the beach and will have Ayu and her female backup dancers doing some dances and martial arts fighting moves~

Well masa mentions the year is filled with sadness. ayu was probably indeed sad, but the lyrics talk about having hope, and for someone who's sad, clinging to hope IS something optimistic. The lyrics tell about suffering but it mentions that hope is the last thing to ever die:

"It has been a long while, I can be bathed in the warm sunlight very soon"

In the end, the message is optimistic as much harsher as the scenario might seem.

And reading the translation through other sources such as wataru the song sounds a lot more about being confident and having faith and hope, despite the bad moments (maybe even the title means something like caring less for all the problems and looking for the future rather than the past, I dunno).

The PV shows the opposite: the angel has a last hope but dies in the end, so the message through the PV is that even hope dies in the end, showing ayumi crying and jailed in a cage. THat's totally different from the whole message of the song.
