Yes, there are always translators, as the interviewer is not uberlingual :p

But the things that the interviewee says are not always in their native language.. BoA's was dubbed over in English.. I don't think the majority of Ayu's will stay in.. whatever-she's-speaking..

But since this is "FOCUS ON JAPAN".. I think MAYBE we'll get Ayu speaking some English and some Japanese rather than be dubbed by some British lady with no teeth.

Ayu spoke English? I wonder if her accent was as horrible as it tends to be.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. The first time I heard Beautiful Fighters, I thought she was saying "Without you I would fight..." instead of "We are beautiful fighters" o_O;; Ayu is great, but maybe she should stick to a few popular phrases in English and then speak in Japanese the rest of the time.

I'm excited for this interview though. There are so few publications in English about her...

I don't know, it doesn't seem that hard to learn English. My friend who came from Japan over to Hawaii, was able to speak English fluently in about six months.

Interesting to hear her english. She sounded very cute in B&D sidestory. But if she really know decent english and still used phrases like "a woman could ba having fun, a woman could be like a nun" and songslike are you wake up? I DON'T want her to release an album in english . Ever.
You are aware that "A woamn could be having fun, a woman could be like a nun" IS proper English, yes? Her pronunciation could've used work, but, really, the English in Real me was actually proper and not Engrish like Are You Wake Up? was. The prhases in Real me are correct, they effectively communicate ideas, and they (from what I can tell) fit in properly with the theme of the song. MAN, I wish people would stop using this song's English as an example of her "awful English" since, accent aside, it's not bad English at all.

It is correct English, but people think that phrase in particular is stupid or isn't a very good line and that's why they always point it out.

At least. I think so. =/ I never saw too much wrong with the line, so~

No, I KNOW It's proper english, but I was thinking about how many fans like the ambiguity of her lyrics and the "deepness" of them. Real Me english lyrics are NOT anything close to that. Another thing is that it's almost impossible to hear what she's actually singing.

I know that Real Me is just for fun, lke most of her girl power songs, and Real Me is one of my favourite songs of hers, but IF all her lyrics turned out anywhere near such lyrics.... >_< I fear it would loose a lot of appeal to at least her original fans outside japan.
