Sparkle is something I've been missing from Ayu since LOVEppears. While it does bring back memories of my first listen of LOVEppears it's lacking something... Maybe it's the slightly disjointed feeling of when it transitions from verse to bridge to chorus. Nevertheless, it's still a pretty fun dance song. I definitely miss this side of Ayu's music.

i personally really love this song

it's different from her recent stuff but at the same time it reminds of her other techno-y songs that are really some of my fun favorites. this song rules.

as for the lyrics... i really don't see anything overly sexual or rude about them. i mean ayu's 30 years old. she can sing about whatever she wants. and honestly no matter how wholesome ayu appears to be or whatever, it's not like you can deny the fact that ayu has sex or sexual desires like every other person in the world.

the way i see this song is that the title is "Sparkle" because you can look at ayu and i guess other women as diamonds. they're beautiful, strong, & sparkly. but you can't just look at them. at some point you have to act to get what you want. so i see it as possibly some guys are kind of hesitant because of ayu's status or beauty or whatever. but maybe now she's ready for a relationship, so she wants someone to try to approach her. and i don't see anything wrong with that.

i doubt she wants to imply hey i'm in the club and i'm sweaty and dancing hard, so come over here and tap this (i might have a problem with this lol)

OMFG. i absolutely love this song!

it's so fresh! and i totally did not expect this song to come out like this, at all!

i'm totally pumped up for "NEXT LEVEL" now.

I LOVE this song. As for the lyrics, there is a bit of innuendo and they are more direct, but I think she's telling a story from the third person. She's not the girl, the girls are the ones she mentions in the first line. I can't really be sure about anything since I don't have the Japanese text in front of me to look at, but the whole "Sucking you thumb" thing is actually imagery used in Japanese to indicate strong want. So that line would be "The warmth you've craved" or something like that.

this song is very FRESH and NEW!!im glad that she came out with something different for this single BUT not for the whole new album~i still wan some of her old style in her new songs

I agree with everyone of you with the same thought

. But I dun even think the age matters. It doesn't matter whether ayu is 30 or 27 or or even 20. Everyone has the right to reveal sexual desire appropriately. Besides, like you said, the lyrics are not that sexual.

And why ayu must write metaphors EVERY SINGLE TIME? Can't an artist write lyrics with a clear direct message sometimes??

And I don't miss the weak, shy, insecure ayu... If she stills like that until today, it would be very strange...

Wow! Sparkle is the hotness. Thank gawd it's not another rock-numbered track. Really loving and it's really a shock to me that I'm saying this now. lol Second best song of 09. MATERIAL WORLD is still owning this song IMO.

If her future releases are like this then I'll definitely love love love this chic again like I use to.

And yea, Rule/Sparkle IS her best single since lawd knows when for me.

I totally love MATERIAL WORLD too!!! The title kind of reminds me of Ayu, her whole promotion of MATERIAL GIRL and her song Mirrorcle World hahaha

I think Ayu should finally do a collab with m-flo and such! Sparkle is right up that alley!

this is the song i've been waiting for. the new songs on the past two singles have been mediocre, imo. although i do like them, i LOVE sparkle.
