Sure, the "circus" theme is 'in' since Britney's done it not so long ago... Then having a "circus" theme is not a clever idea right now...

Actually Christina started the whole Circus theme with "Back To Basics" (no "circus" in the title but just look at the PV's from that album, especially Hurt).
I personally thought even Britney was ripping it off, and then of course Pink added to it.

But Ayu makes it truly unique by adding Rock and Roll to it! I'm soo excited!

(Don't get me wrong, I also loved the 3 albums of aforementioned Western singers, but even if they didn't rip Xtina off.. they did have very similar themes )

Oh ok, I didn't know for the other artists. But it also shows that britney's circus theme is the most popular (at least in France). I mean, I never saw any "circus jacket" on girls in the past. Since britney's one, there are plenty of them on sale. So she may have made it 'in'?
The circus theme in itself is clearly not original, but given the fact that one of the most popular icon made an entire album/tour out of it one year or so ago, it's not very clever as I said. Would have been the same problem if she came up with a disco-themed album just after madonna's one.
But as I said, I don't wan't to have a real opinion as it's "rocn 'n' roll (circus)". She can make something reaaally different.

I don't know what r u drinking latelly, but most of the time Ayu uses circus related stuff, it's among her darker releases... Concert Tour 2, Dome tour, A-Museum, 1Love video, Alterna video... nops... She usually goes for the "freak show" side of it...

Yesyes it's the same as Kuu, Brit and the Rolling Stones etc etc. But hey, "runnaway bride and join the circus" is classic. It works everytime. (Just like the Pocahontas story going into all diffrent movies all the time, hint: Avatar.) Doesnt mean it's gonna be bad. I say the other way, it's gonna be FANTASTIC! Can't wait until I go to Saitama in April!!!

I'm shocked at the title-- and it's making me real excited because it reinforces my hope that this album can be similar to MY STORY. MY STORY was a lot of rock and the only time Ayu ever got close to doing anything circus-y (WONDERLAND!)

Indeed, some people obviously just want to stress the fact that a number of artists have used the word circus or a similar concept in their tours - which is imo needless and completely pointless. There might not be clowns at all and it's not like she has never had clowns before both in her PVs and the concerts, so seriously wtf are Britney Spears and co. even doing here? And all that based on a tour name..it was the same back when she named BALLAD and coincidentally alan fans were all like "OMG Ayu has the same song title as alan" - so what? It's just a freaking name, no one owns it and she wasn't the first person nor the last one to use it.

Ayu does love rock music, and I think I remember her saying at one point she loves Rolling Stones... and then she did all those rock / rock-esque songs at CDL09-10... It's not THAT surprising, tbqh.

BUT OMG I LOVE THIS TITLE!!! People are going to compare the whole circus thing to Britney mostly probably, but it's a hugely common theme that's been done so many times throughout the years. Plus, when I look at the title, I don't think of the average "circus" (elephants, clowns, monkeys, popcorn, etc.), I think of this rock'n'roll extravaganza.
