Michael uses the "uhhh" "wooooohie" "ooooow" "shhhh kun-shh kun", which are kinda of a vocal signature for him. ayu often uses a lot of sounds that doesn't really mean anything but that add something different to her music, and make them sort of a vocal signature for her too, though probably not as strong as michael's. Her hums and la-las, etcc and other elements she adds that make the songs unique to her.

I see, that's pretty interesting. Ayumi does use those a lot.
Maybe her vibrato could be considered that as well? *prays this isn't gonna start a vibrato argument in the future!* |

In my opinion, her vibrato counts as something unique to her as well

Ah, I'm sorry I'm late to reply, everyone. XD I don't have quick access to my Internet at the moment.
But thank you for all of your help and comments. In my opinion, I do think it would be nice to hear a little something in one of her TA posts. Yes, it is true that Michael Jackson and Ayumi Hamasaki probably didn't know each other personally, especially since they are from two different countries. However, they are both extremely popular in the pop music industry (although let's face it: MJ >>>>>>>>> Ayu ). You'd have to be living under a rock to not know who Michael Jackson is/was, so I'm SURE Ayu knows of him. And I'm sure Ayu was indirectly* inspired by Michael Jackson. So I agree with some people here. Yes, she is a busy woman and she didn't know him personally, but because he was such a BIG icon and EXTREMELY well-known man, it seems almost fitting for her to at least say something like, "Wow, I just heard Michael Jackson passed away. How sad ..." or something like that. (Really, it seems more fitting for the "Queen of Pop" (in Japan) to acknowledge his death more than someone like Paris Hilton.) But thank you everyone for your responses. * is that the right word? I'm trying to say... She was probably inspired by him without realizing it, seeing as how he set new standards for music and revolutionized the world of music. You know what I mean? Quote:

my opinion: i think every pop artists in the world owes alot to MJ.
Wether you like him or hate him - he made Pop what it is today. I think it is a sign of respect when someone acknowledges that. Wether Ayu will comment something? I dont know... Perhaps, perhaps not. Many artists have not - and many wont. My personal opinion is very strong that anyone who performs pop sould hold some moment of thanks to his hard work - wether they do that publicly or privatly - it really does not matter. |

I don't know if this has been brought up yet, but i thought it was worth mentioning that Peco did comment on MJ in her blog.
