man i hope no more Armin will happen. Colours and it's tracklist felt like such a wasted out oportunity to me. I hope it never happens again.

When is Ayu gonna discover what BT sounded like between 1997 and 2010? Because she needs to. Because BT neeeeeeedds to do work like that again (not that I don't like the early-2000's style trance he's doing now, but it's not where he really shines), and it would be a ridiculously good fit for ayu... x_x

NO I WILL NEVER STOP SAYING THIS EVERYWHERE.

BT is bascially like a musical genius in the world of electronic music. Actually, he's a musical genius no matter what way you look at it.

This is correct. BT's stuff is definitely very solidly & slickly produced EDM, but there's a rawness to it and a nostalgic, emotional feeling that I think would be a great fit for Ayu's very personal depth. I feel like they'd "get" one another.

Some favorites (of mine and of fans), for the uninitiated:

Flaming June (Edit) [1997]
Pretty outdated instrumentation at this point, but overall it's just solid straightforward trance with a great lead melodic hook that I could totally imagine Ayu putting lyrics to.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unp17YBAAjU

Satellite [2000]
Sensual, sad, sweet, atmospheric, and thickly arranged despite being slow.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_hZUt1BbAs

Never Gonna Come Back Down feat. M.Doughty [2000]
RIDICULOUS BEATS YOU GUYS. Kinda dark, very badass, music with a purpose. Love this track.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nt52SoAeP48[

The Great Escape feat. Caroline Levelle [2003]
Kind of indescribable actually.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4KEmxiVJ54

Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved) [2003]
Catchy, in the vein of a Phrased Differently track like "Wake me up". Also very solid.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_iFizEkfEAQ

All that Makes Us Human Continues [2006]
Experimental track with a great mood... it's 8 minutes, I know, but a chunk of 2 minutes out of the first part of it could make for a GORGEOUS interlude track on an Ayu album. The kind of interlude HAL woulda done for Ayu back in the day.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ve8WaGmyhfI

Sorry if this is too much but I feel like this is a collaboration that we should really poke Ayu about, just because I think it could work SO WELL >_<!!!

well that's where we can agree to disagree lol cuz i've listened to the whole thing ONCE and that was all xD To me it's the worst thing she's ever released lol I really hope she's through with EDM and will never touch it again, unless it's for a remix album. i dunno why but to me Ayu is a rock/drama/rich arrangements, rather than club music. And the earlier was the reason why i fell in love with her. She gave what some people on here were dying for, now lets go back to basics lol

I found Colours enjoyable to listen to, but not as an Ayu album. I don't think it feels like an Ayu album, it felt like an EDM side project that happened to have her voice on top of it. In fact if she released it as "AYU" instead of as Ayumi Hamasaki, and it wasn't an "official" ayu album, I might like it much more. It didn't feel like her soul was in it as much as her usual stuff.

Yes, BT and Ayu would work very well together. I'm surprised he didn't make any of the Ayu Trance albums back in the day after his work with N'Sync and Britney.

That makes much more sense, lol. It wouldn't have made any sense for Armin to be playing an English version of Terminal that didn't have Ayu's vocals, haha.

Ayu's discography is so hugely varied. To some, she's all about heartfelt ballads; to others she's a club queen; to others she totally freaking rocks; to others she's this big shiny epic princess; to others she's simple & relatable. It's kind of amazing.

Looking at polls from back in the day, seeing why people loved Ayu, it was mostly because of her "tragic heroine" style of lyrics. There's ALOT you can do with that, sound-wise! If your lyrics are your "thing" then what genre of music you do is really, REALLY open-ended.

I love the songs he did with ayu, though was it ever said how he came to being with ayu. I find it nice how they seem to be proper friends too, not just a person on her pay roll

The main reason I love ayu is because of her diversity. She has a song for every mood, though she does do more type than others, she will always keep throwing in something different here and there
