You can listen to the remaster of TO BE now?
https://open.spotify.com/album/2Om7nFyXaTvVXcZrn9jx6Z *cue people listening to it on laptop speakers* "it sounds exactly the same!!" Last edited by ExodusUK; 11th October 2019 at 06:45 PM. |

from a quick listen to both versions, the differences I've spottetd are:
- the instruments sound way more digitalized - the reverb on her Voice is a huge difference but still is over the top - the guitar during the verses may have another chorus/flanger on it

From what I see, the whole remastered album is up on Spotify, not only TO BE.

Maybe they mixed up 10.11.2019 with 11.10.2019 lol
I listened to Boys and Girls and even without headphones it sounds quite different.

Okay so from what i've understood on her official avex page, disc 1 is now available somewhere for 900 yen, which may explain why it's got uploaded on Spotify as well.
We also get a picture of the 4CD+DVD packaging, looks like a digipack to me Spoiler:

Really? I listened to it with my headphones, then I went to the original track and was impressed by the difference! haha
The instrumentation now has more depth, like someone said, "more digitalized" and I noticed the reverb on her voice is slightly different. EDIT: I opened the link now by the desktop and it's the original track playing, not the remastered one. On my smartphone, I get the new version.

Main differences I've noticed so far:
- OVERALL, many elements/instruments of songs now have more clarity or presence. I'm hearing that I never knew were there, or could hear well, until this remaster. Boys & Girls is probably where this is most apparent. Introduction's opening synths also have noticeably more bass in the synths - I'd also say that the overall mix is very even. Songs never get too loud or abrasive, which might have something to do with the fact that the bass levels are a bit more conservative. Not to say this album lacks oomph, but now the songs are just more comfortable to listen to. It's most noticeable in Who... when the chorus kicks in. - Vocals also sound like they have a bit more reverb/echo in certain songs, such as Fly High and TO BE. - High notes in Ayu's vocals also never become uncomfortable. This has always been my biggest pain listening to her, no matter what kind of sound system/headphones I'm listening through, her high notes in songs are sometimes unbearable. This isn't the case - the remaster balances her vocals so that they more or less never overpower the mix. Going through the album right now, and I feel like Boys & Girls has the most apparent difference in sound, which doesn't surprise me. I also feel like the drums in Trauma are clearer. I always wished there were a release of the drum loop track, every time it plays in her lives I get so amped, but the mixes of Trauma up 'til now have always buried the drums in the opening guitar. kanariya also is noticeably longer. Perhaps I'm not familiar with the version used as the "secret track" at the end of Who..., but it would seem the runtime is about a a whole minute longer. My fear was that they were just going to make all the songs louder and slap "remastered" on this release, but this is definitely not the case Last edited by Norrel; 12th October 2019 at 04:13 AM. |

Malaysia’s iTunes up, price lower (RM17.90) than the original released (RM29.90)
Spoiler:
EDIT: I sample listening to To Be and Who thru my phone speaker, I can hear the remastered version more louder and clearer.

the ad/announcement says disc 1 is available now on a "flash price" — I guess that's what it means; it's cheaper.
