Actually pretty realistic imo. I’ve also started to think this “time off” she’s been taking is intencional, to create some kind of hype, as well as a legend kind of aura around her, making her discography seem more iconic. It has worked in my case, I perceive her past albums differently than I used to. As I said, more iconic.

This is an interesting point! With the decline of her activity the past couple of years, I've also grown to regard her body of work (and especially her earlier works) with a kind of reverence.

Nay, with the book + drama series coming soon, I doubt the TROUBLE tour will be ending anytime soon, could be rename afterwards and continue...

Ayu is on vacation atm. Also I don’t get the animosity for the tour. Every chapter has had a different set list so far with different performances.

Hm, she's not as public as she was, that's true, but she's never gone even without releasing much music.
She appeares on special music shows pretty much every year, her tours and concerts are airing on TV, media is reporting about her tours and concerts like they do with every other known artist, there are also reports about Instagram posts, and with rumours and gossip it's even more.
We only got one magazine spread for her 20th anni, but now we have the book.
As long as she's active, she's not gone, even when she's not releasing new music.
But your experience about how you receive her music is interesting, cause never thought about it like that.

Take someone else as comparison e.g. like Miliyah Kato or Ai Otsuka. They're much more active in regards of releasing new music, but from what I've seen there's less of them in media coverage and attention nontheless.
And media is more reporting about their tours and other stuff as well. Considering nowadays experiencing (new) music is more valuable for most people than actually buying it, that's understandable.
In Japan, apart from streaming, only concert ticket sales are still rising every year. Touring without releasing any new music is probably not possible though in the long run.

I respect the fact that she would prefer to tour right now than record music, but I wish she had left us with something better than TROUBLE if she was going to go on this long of a break. I've been listening to LOVEppears a lot so I might get the overseas press of this release but even still it would have been nice to get re-recordings like we did for Mirrorcle World or something... Remix album... Tribute album... Greatest live performances DVD compilation???
