I'm pretty sure she does... let me think...

imo those may be about life depending on how u read them:

Conected
Spoiler:
I see, I find, I make sure.
I stare, I'm fascinated, I'm satisfied, but

I look up, I see, I compare.
I despise, I stray, I'm abandoned.

We're connected at each and every place so
when I think this word, you'll already know.

Oh, by the time we sleep the deep sleep,
how many precious words will we have exchanged?

I see, I find, I make sure.
I stare, I'm fascinated, I'm satisfied, but

I look up, I see, I compare.
I despise, I stray, I'm abandoned.

We're connected at each and every place so
when I think this word, you'll already know.

evolution
Spoiler:
It's true, isn't it? It seems as though
we're headed for a new century. It's miraculous:
This is something you can only taste once.
Let's remember one more time.

On the day we arrived on this Earth
we were somehow happy,
and somehow it hurt.
We were crying
wow yeah wow yeah wow wow yeah

Reality is a traitor; it's easy
to misjudge things. So with your own two eyes
please decide the worth of this place.
Do it with your own standards.

We've arrived in these times.
But somehow things move on
So somehow we're standing here
and we're living through today.
wow yeah wow yeah wow yeah

We've arrived on this kind of world.
Somehow I'm very happy
somehow it hurts a lot.
While crying at the top of my lungs:
wow yeah wow yeah wow yeah

I've arrived in these times.
But I met you.

I've arrived in this kind of world.
So I was able to meet you.

On the day we arrived on this Earth
we were somehow happy,
and somehow it hurt.
We were crying
wow yeah wow yeah wow wow yeah

We've arrived in these times.
But somehow things move on
So somehow we're standing here
and we're living through today.
wow yeah wow yeah wow yeah

everywhere nowhere
Spoiler:
The freedom we have
The choices we make
The sacrifice we pay
Make life so complicated

Our eyes to judge
Our hands to hang on
Our feet to step forward
To whom do we entrust them?

The flooding products
The confused informations
Which on earth is the truth
And which is the fake?

Yes, we are free
But are too free
We can go everywhere
And can go nowhere

Today passing by
Tomorrow we don't yet see
The past we are holding
With whom do we share them?

The more convenient the products become
The more inconvenient our hearts become
I wonder if some day
Man may be symbolized, too

Yes, we are free
But are too free
We can go everywhere
And can go nowhere

Love is not an illusion
Dreams will surely come true
There will be a ray of hope
Yes, if we believe so

Though the sky is a little far
Let's go to see the end of the rainbow
And to find the sceneries
No one has ever seen

Yes, we are free
But are too free
We could go everywhere
And could go nowhere

winding road
Spoiler:
Like a bird that forgot how to fly
I forgot how to walk
And ran and ran

Now I look back on the road
Which I feel
Both long and short

Yes, this is the road I chose

(*) The footprints I left behind
Are distorted and muddy
But I don't regret them at all
I'm proud of them from the bottom of my heart

Yes, this is the road I chose

(*) repeat

I can't live along well as before
I'm not so tactful
But one thing I can tell you is
I keep on going this way with my head held high

A bird that forgot how to fly
Will be able to flap its wings once again
Just as I could start walking again

beautiful day
Spoiler:
Every time we come to a fork in the road
We choose one and go forward
But the other way we didn't choose
Always looks so bright
Why?

* What's a Beautiful Day?
What's a Beautiful Day?
When you hesitate over a choice, surely (You know)
What's a Beautiful Day?
What's a Beautiful Day?
You already know
That you are just hesitating to choose the answer you want to choose

** It's a Beautiful Day
It's a Beautiful Day
You don't have to be afraid

We are scared of tomorrow
Because we are so anxious about what we haven't yet seen
But if tomorrow is too obvious to see
It's so much boring
Don't you think so?

*** What's a Beautiful Day?
What's a Beautiful Day?
It's easy to get a beautiful moment, but (You know)
What's a Beautiful Day?
What's a Beautiful Day?
You already know
That you can't get beautiful things just by being beautiful

** (repeat)

What journey will you make
In your limited time?

* (repeat)
*** (repeat)
** (repeat)

and IMO those are for sure about life

voyage
Spoiler:
We travel this road to find happiness.
See? You look good with a smile on your face.

These beautiful, fragile days are reborn, unfaded.

In the season of dazzling burned seas
and in the season of dancing snowflakes

whenever I turned around, you were there.

We travel this road to find happiness.
Everyone is a traveler, carrying his own never-healing wounds.
See? You look good with a smile on your face.

How many times have I gotten lost?
Every time, the one who extended his

warm helping hand was you.

*At the end of this long path, what will we think?
Everyone is a traveler, wandering about in search of love.
Let's go together until we tire of it.

*repeat

dolls
Spoiler:
Supposing life is a momentary dream
It would be like a flower
Even if destined to fall
It is all the more precious for its transience

What I lost somewhere once
What I left somewhere on that day
Now I go on a journey
With what is left in my hands

What are you thinking about now?
What can I do for you?

Maybe it is valuable as it has no forms
Maybe it is cruel and beautiful

Whether it rains or it blows
On the glowing day or on the silent night
Even if here is the end of the world
I wish to show you the continuation of the dream

I will grow a beautiful flower
And offer it to you
I will grow a beautiful flower
And offer it to you

What are you thinking about now?
What can I do for you?

I will grow a beautiful flower
And offer it to you
I will grow a beautiful flower
And offer it to you

I will sing a song
And sing by your side
I will sing a song
And sing by your side

Well, you could interprentate the "we've taken the long road, but we have finally arrived" part of dearest to be about death. In fact, there are very many you can think to be about death if you really read between the lines. But I think pretty much all of the ones that were really written about death have been already mentioned.

100% confirmed.
i believe to have read that Dearest was dedicated to her Love with Tomoya Nagase..isn't it?

Although this, I dedicate this song in a letter inside the roses i gave to my granpa burial.

Crossing over time and changing your shape
You see? The future we haven't yet seen
Remains here like this

Stay by my side, my love

The future we haven't yet seen
Remains here

Trust me, my love
You live within me
So I'll never
Say good-bye to you

I really think that the most obvious songs have been mentioned, but some songs are stretching it, to an extent. Just because in dearest she says that she hopes to see her lovers face until the day she dies, does not mean the entire song is about death, granted someone can see an interpertation like that, but I do not think that it is right to associate songs like dearest, far away, or even end roll with death. Now those songs do definately have some sad lines in them, however they are not primarily about death, maybe the loss of a something that the narrator desires, but they are not about death. However, depending on how you interpret songs you could refer to death as in love that has passed, so therefore it is dead, but I think that is a stretch somewhat, because it is not as if she is saying that her old way of living or her old life is dead, but someone can probably convience me otherwise. I could even say that walking proud then is a song about death in the sense that her old past has died and she is looking forward to a brighter day, I still do not understand why this song was on A Best Two Black because I have always thought the end was positive (she mentions that she is walking forward). So in other words, there is a difference between a song that mentions death and a song thats main topic concerns death (a major theme versus a minor theme). Some songs like heaven, memorial address, who (even though it does not have that feeling for me I can still see where people are coming from), ever free (should be song during funerals, JK), momentum (if you go off the mv and the lyrics, I guess, that song is borderline for me, however; if anyone wants to challenge me and convience me otherwise I am totally up for a resonable logical interpertation and analysis), and obviously untitled for her. So I hope I am not rambling but I think this all depends on the interpertation, we all, myself included, just have to make sure that our evidence is logical. I will say this much though, for some songs the meanings are very ambigious, I think Ayu is a fantastic lyricist, however some songs are very confusing whether it is because the words are lost in translation, literally, or it because she is just very confused, or I just do not understand some things. I do not think I will ever understand Kanariya, are the canaries an allegory for something else. So I guess we can all give each other a little bit of wiggle room if we make some mistakes in interpertation. Like I said sorry if I rambled on and excuse me if I offened anyone!

yes, i agree. many things can depend on interpretation and depend also on the feelings we have listen to them.

Most of the menings can also be lost in translation, infact, if I compare my translation of HEAVEN to masa's translation they're pretty different.
Maybe because sometimes we make mnore than one translation (i usually translate from japanese to italian and from italian to english).

But feelings really incise the final meaning of lyrics.
As you know all, an objective translation it's impossible.

I always wondering about this too. Sometimes ayu lyric is too deep so I always judge based on her pv XD
Like ever free, its about death isnt it? The pv is kinda creepy imo, and its weird too..Anybody can interpret wads ever free pv means?
And also, is free & easy is about death too as the pv was like showing her being sentenced to death?

I still do not think Free and Easy is about death because there is not a concise ending, the ending is left up to the audience I think, because we never see Ayu being executed, although there is reasonable evidence to believe that she is. No one can say that she is killed for certain, at the end of the video, but if the lyrics and the mv are placed together than I think that is a stretch. However if a fan believes the mv refers to Joan of Arc then death is plausible. Ever Free like most fans have stated is about death, I think the title really says it all, but I think that a title like ever free gives the impression that the soul is free, idk challenge me cause I might be wrong. Ah, C+R+E+AYUMI you are right no one can eliminate their biases totally, imagine what the world would be like if that was to happen , lovely don't you think?

Urmm... I'm not really sure about this one, but...

Would teddy bear be considered to be about death? I always thought it to be telling of when her father left...

"I found a teddy bear...
In place of you"

...I don't know XD I'm really bad at interpreting things lol

I do not think so Captain Kawaii 123, maybe, I think she is really singing about a loss as in someone who had broke promises they could not keep, which would make sense if they left a teddybear and also the line, "but how can people regret mistakes that they keep on making?"

Do not be sorry, captain kawaii 123 it is okay, you gave it a shot, trust me you are much better at something that I probably suck at, so don't worry about it. Does anyone have any other songs that they think could be about death?

The most obvious one to me is untitled ~for her~. I'm pretty sure it was about and dedicated to a friend of Ayu's who died (did she commit suicide? I can't remember if that was true or not).

Quote:
If I could have just one wish now
I'd like to see you again

That day you decided
To walk alone
On that long journey
To that place above the clouds
That last stanza... I really got the impression of taking one's own life. "That day you decided / to walk alone" sounds like death by choice, in other words, suicide, because this follows with "on that long journey / to that place above the clouds", death and journey to heaven.

Really sad and moving song, definitely about death.
