Wow..this thread is really interesting...ever free is her saddest song in her entire carrer in my opinion..I feel like crying whenever I listen to that song but at the same time it gives you a sense of unusual freedom. Especially that piano version is heartbreaking....
Hmm..maybe that's why ayu decided not to perform it at A best Live 2013. I mean, if she had wanted, she could have easily performed it, especially because it's so short.
And the lyrics..........
I also feel like she's describing a funeral.

Interesting thread!

It made me realise that I don't think I've ever read the translation for Ever Free before. I really like the lyrics - gives the song a whole new feeling.

The best song about death maybe 'ever free', it's just so heartbreaking, thinking about she wrote this song for her grandma's funeral..., and other songs about death like MA or untitled for her, I cannot help feeling heartbreaking for Ayu, why she suffered so much...

About the discussion for HEAVEN, It s definetely a "death song". I remember reading/hearing somewhere that ayu said she wrote the lyrics for HEAVEN imagining the death of her lover and how she would feel. The lyrics fit, and also the title of course.
ever free is one of my favourite songs.

Sandy: No, that one definitely sounds like Ayu accepting that a romance with a particular older man is doomed to fail and can't work out. (You can probably guess who I'm pretty sure she's talking about - but that's gossip, I suppose.)

^Considering how Love~destiny was conceived, as a collab with Tsunku to be used as a theme song, I doubt it is THAT personal.

She doesn't seen to like singing her songs written to people that passed way, and this one got a lot of performances...

^Yeah that's why she dislike "poker face", because when she was recording it/filming the video she got a fax that her granny had passed away...

Arrgh, so mad I can't find the LD thing, I could have sworn I read it somewhere like eight years ago
